Bidra med feedbackDuring our stay in the village, we visited this restaurant a few times and had a delicious meal on Saturday evening. Although it was very busy, we were impressed by the friendly and attentive young staff. We appreciated that the food was served on large trays, ensuring that everything arrived at the table at the same time. My husband enjoyed his burger, but unfortunately, my steak pie was disappointing as the pastry was rock hard and inedible. Despite this, we didn't complain as everything else was tasty. The manager noticed that I hadn't eaten the pie and kindly removed it from the bill. We also visited for drinks a few times during the week and were able to sit outside due to the warm weather. However, when we asked to sit inside on one occasion, the manager seemed surprised and had to check the booking diary to see if she could accommodate us, even though only two tables were occupied at 5pm. In my opinion, this establishment is more of a restaurant than a country pub, as there were no cozy fireside chairs, locals at the bar, too many bright lights, and all the tables were set up for dinner service.
The atmosphere at this restaurant is delightful and the food is fantastic. We highly recommend trying the crab fishcakes, bread and olives, and the steak pie, which was absolutely amazing.
We had to ask for menus. No one asked us if we wanted drinks. Ten minutes later, we finally ordered our food and drinks. Our Sunday dinners arrived shortly after, but our drinks were still missing. We had to request them a few minutes later! The food was delicious, but we had to push our empty plates out of the way. After waiting a bit, we asked for our plates to be cleared and the dessert menu. In no time, our dessert arrived and it was incredible. We were never asked if we wanted more drinks, luckily there was a bottle of water on the table. To top it off, we had to ask for the bill at the end. Despite the subpar service, we complimented the chef and left the change as a tip. Strangely, the tip plate was brought back with a note. Overall, the service was worse than McDonald's in London!
I was very excited about how we were here to try Sunday dinner, but I was so disappointed. dirty cutlery and crooked aswell as the salt and pepper pots and water bottles that put them on the table. the glass and brass areas of the doors were unclean and the place looked just tired. the Sunday evening was drowned in the heavy that made it soggy and barely edible. it was warm and the meat bark was hard and fat. I got half bratkartoffels, which lubricated as if they had precooked and heated again, and the sweet was bland and soft. the side of the cauliflower cheese was almost cold the taste of the senf was overlaid. a dog that went from the staff to and from the room next to the table was neither really pleasant, as the permanent assembly of the staff directly behind our table. I was the one who suggested the place so that I would also leave the rest of the party down. I will not come back.
We have booked as a party in the winter garden room and told the cook that our food orders are needed as soon as possible...it felt all very hurried first. But when we had taken food orders, we were very much left....we...had to find a worker for drinks and cutlery. I'm afraid the waiting staff were very uninterested that we felt very angry. eating was absolutely faultless and certainly justified the cost. we are often immersed in the bar and eaten and are always impressed, which is why we have suggested as a family to celebrate my father's birthday. however, what has left an acidic taste was the service fee added at the end that we felt was certainly not justified by the service we received. there are so many other beautiful local venues in the competition that we unfortunately will not come back and I wish now that we recommended the triton for our family dinner party.
