Bidra med feedbackI drove one day to east greenwich and thought I'd break in hucks as I wasn't. it is a small place on the corner of a cross with a large terrace with many seating, sun umbrellas, couches and gas fireplaces. I could not try to eat that, but tried the dayr (cocktail,) the one mix of sauv blanc gurken wodka and I had fresh oysters. fantastic place for a fast drink appetizer and more than likely a great place to go with friends in the night. highly recommended!
It was a great first experience. There are many resturants with good food in the area. Hucks has an eclectic menu along with some basics offerings made special. The service was awesome and a half as Abby added to the experience. My only regret is I did not have room for dessert.
I used to love this place and unfortunately it's not the same as it used to be. The last time I came m, the service wasn't the best. Not very attentive and didn't notice the burnt to a crisp potatoes they served us. The food wasn't as good as it used to be. The salmon did not taste fresh at all. It's unfortunate because I went for a special occasion and everyone at the table was disappointed. We ended up going down the street to get more food afterward.
Absolutely delicious! We decided to try this restaurant after driving by it a few times and I'm so happy we did! The atmosphere is very inviting and the wait staff was very friendly. The food combinations were interesting and it's definitely intended for people to try new things they're not used to. The drinks were outstanding!! I can't wait to come back here!
We stopped into Huck's yesterday for dinner, after striking out at Greenwich Oysters because we didn't have a reservation. What a hidden gem we found at Huck's! First of all, there is a free municipal parking lot a block away from this restaurant--in this area, that's a lifesaver (lots of steep hills to walk up and down if you're trying your luck with street parking). There's indoor and outdoor seating--we chose outside, which was an inviting and nicely decorated area. We began our meal of small plates with half a dozen oysters. They were fresh as could be. We then moved onto the goat cheese stuffed bacon wrapped dates, which were simple and flavorful bites. They got us excited to try the other dishes. Next was the shrimp skillet with corn and cheese and peppers. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the corn was sweet and fresh. Unfortunately the final two plates blew this dish away! The local chicken with peanuts and pistachios and lime cilantro juice had such brightness and juiciness. And the oysters huckefeller was as close to perfection as it comes. It was just the right amount of food and all the flavors came together and complimented each other beautifully. We will definitely be back the next time we're in this area.
