East Village Tavern - E. Longmeadow

Went to EVT for first time last night. It will also be the last. Service was sub par, food was not good. Our party selected the arancini, Reuben special with fries, the short rib, boneless wings, chicken chili, crispy brussel sprouts, and the fall harvest salad special. The arancini balls were lukewarm warm and mushy in the middle, without much flavor. The Reuben and fries were cold when served, the short rib lacked flavor or seasoning, the chili was also just mushy and flavorless, brussels were not crispy (nor was the bacon it was served with), and the salad was drenched so much with dressing. We sent the Reuben and brussels back. The Reuben came back better but the brussels still weren 't. A heavy set guy that we presumed was the manager was making his rounds and as he approached our table all he did was nod and said everything okay? But when we looked up to reply, he turned and moved on. So he really didn 't want to know the answer. The place is just a big bar with very little ambiance. Might be an okay place to get a drink or two or more. I would guess the food is an afterthought and perhaps they 're banking on the people who are eating there are already a few drinks in and won 't notice. Try Redstone Pasta up the street. Great bar, atmosphere, service and delicious food. And the manager actually stops to not only check in but listens to your answers and has an actual conversation.

If you ask me…this a great place to drink. They have some really cool stuff on tap…and some good booze I don’t think they would have. The pub food is a step above. The ambiance for what it is…pretty cool! excellent little spot for a drink, to watch a game…and 10/10 would come Back. Cannot give a 5/5 because if I do everyone would come here. Good spot…and I have a good feeling about this place.

If you’re going for drinks and the bar, not bad.If you’re going for food and a seat, I don’t recommend…We wanted to love this place. The food was pretty bad and we waited for 20-25 minutes for a “hello” and another 10 for water.Didn’t get our drink order right either.The flatbread was the best thing we got. The spinach dip was decent but pita chips were full of Grease and oil. The “boneless chicken wings” were over cooked chicken tenders with no flavor we picked.Too pricey for poor quality and terribly slow service.

This place is my go to in EL. Great atmosphere and for a bar the food is delish! Matty the manager is the best and Shannon and Rachel are the best bartenders around!!

Love love love EVT! It is the best restaurant in the area. Food is delicious, atmosphere is fun and lively and the service is always fantastic. I had the warm farro salad and added grilled chicken to it. The tofu was lightly fried, not at all greasy and had a warm, soft center. The farro had a nice bite and the portion was huge. My bf had the chicken quesadilla and it was perfection. The cocktails were also excellent. We’ve been going at least weekly and have always had an amazing meal.
