Pizzeria Toro - Durham

Warm and cozy pizza restaurant that over delivers on taste!

It's my fault for missing the fine print, but a 20% service fee is added to the bill. The pizza was delicious as always, but I feel like they should raise the prices rather than add a fee; I would rather be informed up front about the pricing rather than be surprised because I only read the pizza options and didn't examine the entire menu. They also expect a tip on top of the service fee.

Pizzeria Toro never disappoints. Great food with great service.

For being so busy, we got seated in the time we were told and the service was personal, friendly, and spot on. Pizza perfection!

Our recent visit to Pizzeria Toro was of conflicting experiences. We ordered the mushroom pizza, and a few drinks. The food and drinks were delicious and worthy Toro's more upscale pricing. Unfortunately, the dining experience was dampened by the indifferent and somewhat rude service. While the staff efficiently delivered orders, they were really short with us, not friendly at all, and did not talk about the food or ask us any questions typical of wait staff (would you like to keep the menu, how is everything, etc). This seemed to clash with the overall environment of Pizza Toro which by the design of the fireplace, menu, and glassware you would assume is more of an upscale pizzeria? Unfortunately, the reason we wouldn't return is because of the wait staff. If we are going out for upscale or unique pizza in the future we would be more likely to choose another option with a better wait service.
