Bidra med feedbackI'm a native. have eaten at this place for years and watched how the quality go down as the hands changed several times. Their mullet and catfish dinners were used to panfritted, cheap and tasty. last night I had the worst fished of my life. the prices are up to 50% and the quality of the food sucked. so strongly broken and deep fried that I had to dig to find the tiny pieces of fish in the broth period. even the koleslaw was not as good as usual. I had fish in mcdonalds. I'll throw that fat in the morning. I have never written a review, but the feeling of warning the necessity. they are not right to call themselves a fish restaurant.
Excellent crab cakes, actually Maryland style and not just described that way. Local beers were a nice touch
Goat cheese and blue crab dip is amazing. If you love hand cut fries, be sure to order them as your side.
For a fish shack atmosphere with beer and fish sandwiches, they do that very well at Hogisland. The outdoor dining areas were nice as well.
Food was just excellent. Wife had blackened mahi. Perfectly seasoned, not bland, not overly spicy. Just perfect seasoning. The fries she ordered were perfect (not some doggy frozen stuff, but real Potatoes). I had a special. It was called unicorn fish with shrimp. (firm, mild). I had it grilled. Next time I’ll get it blacked because that seasoning was so good. Not too expensive but not inexpensive. Service was very good. We sat outside and were well taken care of. No wait to be seated on a Saturday night. My wife’s sangria was very good as well.
