Star Fish - Dumfries Galloway

I would not recommend using this restaurant again. I purchased fish and chips from this establishment, but the fish tasted like ammonia and the chips seemed like leftovers, not fresh. The owner could benefit from some PR training as he was very aggressive. I had to ask one of his workers, who was putting a chair together, if everything was okay. I should have walked out with that kind of attitude.

We arrived late after a long journey and were craving a meal. We ordered a jacket potato with filling and a pizza, both of which were delicious and cooked to perfection. The portions were generous and the staff even gave us a pizza box to take home the leftovers. Our server was efficient and kind. The drinks, including a pot of tea and coffee, were excellent - a rarity when dining out. Although we read some negative reviews, they seemed outdated - perhaps there has been a change in management. Regardless, we had nothing but positive things to say about the restaurant. Additionally, the prices were reasonable.

I visited this restaurant a couple of days ago and had a terrible experience. The staff were unfriendly and there was no hand sanitizer available. They were also unprofessional, wearing jackets while working. Additionally, there was a lot of shouting and swearing among the staff. I will not be returning to this restaurant. I only rated it 1 star because I couldn't rate it any lower.

Hadnt had fish and chips from here for years. You know when you go back somewhere with a great memory and you feel let down and dissappointed well not here. Still great fish and chips and good portion sizes. Easy to walk down from to the harbour and sit and eat looking at the boats.

Went in for a takeaway, we were completely ignored, waited a bit to give them a chance. Some body came in about 5 mins after us they came straight over to him asked what he wanted!!! Invisibility cloak maybe?? PS gave it one star because I couldn’t give it 0.
