Cafe Isla - Dumaguete City

Had a pleasant dining experience here in Buglas Isla Cafe! We went around 11AM on a weekday and it was not crowded. Parking is spacious. From the moment we went in, we were assisted to our table. The vibes is very homey. While we waited for our orders, they gave us complimentary bread and butter. My husband and I ordered the ff: Seafood Pasta with bread cooked just the way we liked it: fresh, a bit tangy, and pasta was al dente! It had squid, tahong, and shrimps. Island Smash Burger with Fries yummy too! Huge juicy beef patties, bacon, and veggies. Mmmm. Buglas Pizza perfect mix of sweet and salty. It had chorizos and pineapples, a drizzle of honey. The crust was stuffed with cheese and meat. Sarap! Taho Cheesecake light cheesecake that’s not too sweet! Perfect pair with our cold brew Overall, we had a great experience. We were so full we didn’t finish the pizza hehe will def come back and try their other dishes.

Very beautiful and peaceful location. I was here for dinner. The food is really excellent, yummy and the price is really good for the quality. But the service needs to be improved a lot. Although they told me, that they are open until 10pm (it was weekend), all staff started to clean up floor and tables at 9pm and didn’t care about the guests requests outside on the terrace. Management is required!

The restaurant has a wonderfully cozy atmosphere and is quite charming. The staff provide excellent customer service. I highly recommend it, especially since the restaurant has a history of over 100 years. I will definitely return!

Buglas Isla is an excellent choice for showcasing Dumaguete, especially when you have visitors. The setting is picturesque and transports you to another time while you savor delicious dishes from the present. The food was served hot and fresh, and the service was exceptional, with no wait time for any requests. Buglas Isla truly is where culinary art meets a festival of flavors!

I really love the atmosphere here. The food has a comforting, home-cooked quality that I enjoy. The flavors are perfectly balanced—not too strong—making it just right for my taste. The price is fair and reflects both the quality and portion sizes, which is important to me. I also appreciate that it's set back from the street, which helps minimize noise. I will definitely return!
