Bidra med feedbackI ate here three times during my two stays at the Dusseldorf Courtyard Marriott. I ate the breakfast buffet twice and had dinner once. This place is decorated nicely with a lot of flair. There is a bar off to the side of the restaurant. There is a nice view to the Rhein harbor from the restaurant. The breakfast buffet was lacking in that any request for cooked meat needed to be made by the cook. There were breads, fruit, yogurt and juices to choose from but most of my preferences needed to be requested to the cook, which took longer than expected. The service was lacking as well as the server would disappear for long periods of time. I received better service from the cook. I did request a pancake and received a Dutch Baby; it tasted really good and he was really proud of it. I ate here for dinner one night and ordered the 300 g Beef Filet. It was cooked perfectly but was not seasoned. I ordered it with fries and spinach. The spinach was served with onions in it so I did not eat much of it and the fries were OK. I ordered a few beers here in which they served Frankenheim Alt Bier. The beers were good and it was the best part of my meal. My service was also lacking at dinner service. Two stars!
Great lunch special and service. The chef prepared it special and spicy. Had the Caesar salad the following day with grilled chicken. Good size for the price and the chicken was grilled perfectly.
Here is the scoop: After a long day of travelling and visiting family, we checked in at the Courtyard in the evening...and I was hungry. ; Since I was the only one, we didn't check out the neighborhood, but opted for Julian's downstairs. The dining room is elegant, but still has a homely atmosphere. Very pleasant. It's biggest feature is probably the huge window front with a view to the Mediahafen waterfront unfortunately, it was dark when we arrived so we did not get to enjoy it. The service was quick and efficient. It might have been a slow evening since just 4 tables very occupied (us included , so only one waitress and the cook seemed to have been on duty, but they did their job well. Now for the food: Since I was the only one who was really hungry, we only ordered a Tommy's Prime Beef Burger, an extra side of fries and a large bottle of water for the three of us. While we were waiting for our order, we received a complimentary bread basket with butter, two spreads and a small bowl of olives. Everything was quite tasty and I especially liked the tuna spread. It didn't take long for our actual food to arrive and as you can see from my photo everything was nicely presented. Unfortunately, the burger was really messy to eat so my plate didn't stay that good looking for very long. I am not quite sure what kind of spread was featured on my burger (it looked and tasted like some herb cream cheese? , but it made the bun stick to it like glue and since the bread was rather flakey anyways the entire top broke completely apart. I ended up removing the top part of the bun and had to eat the burger with fork and knife. The patty was unfortunately not freshly made, but something store bought, however the cook managed to coax a nice grilled flavor into it and it was not dry, so I was still satisfied with it. Fries and side salad were crisp and tasty. No complaints here. Overall, I was satisfied with my meal and the prices are fair considering the amount of food you get. I'd consider dining here again if I happen to stay at the Courtyard another time.
