Nice place in Düsseldorf-Pempelfort with small, changing map including mix of well-known classics and interesting new interpretations. Prices are usually between EUR 10 and EUR 15 (day card). Beautiful ambience, especially in summer in the courtyard. Apparently the place should soon be supplemented by a bar. Mostly good service is offered when it is full, it can take quite long. But a good recommendation.
Were there with our son in June 2012. The well-known great backyard ambience with new operators. Expectations were high. A look at the menu did not make good sense. Uplifting expensive and a buckling taste, which in my opinion does not need the original Spoerl. We're not on the babe, but in Pempelfort. Well, maybe the proximity to the Zooviertel and the new Quartier Central is animating at such prices. The menu ends shortly before 30€ and then does not really attract new ones. Well, let's try it. Have ordered 3 times pasta, for our short of 7 a children's portion. That's unusual. He had to ask. Yeah, that's okay, the waiter said after a feeling eternity. The pasta arrived. The proportion of children was more than half smaller. It's great. Only everything was clearly too salty and animated to other drinks. Tastefully but still ok. Söhnchen was tired after a fork and half of my wife's same dish remained. A full portion. We told the waiter if we could take the rest. The almost inconvenient portion of my son and half of my wife. On the question, the waiter, before deprivation, almost looked out of his head. From the constant reaction of the waiter we had the impression that we had ordered an intimate percing in the kitchen with subsequent branding over the gas oven and that for our son... First of all, a flat-rate seal: neee, so we've made that niiiiieeeee...... Then I didn't let go, and behold, it came. We still felt treated like lepers. The bill came. We were through the long wait in a hurry and the disappointment was huge too. So paid and off. I have already swallowed 5 drinks plus 1.5 times Bolognese and a vegetable pasta make 57€?? Hossa! It turned out that the proportion of children was fully charged. When we spoke to the waiter, he started lying! No, he doesn't know about a child's portion. He can only remember that the portion was the same size... I stayed away from the spit, I paid and was also from the offer of another lady from the service the 6€ from half now not to comfort. If that goes on, it will surely and hopefully be a change of the plight again!
A super place to take a relaxing break, whether to the cafe or a salad or a soup, whether with children or without. Only recommended!
As everyone speaks so much about Mr. Spoerl, I had to try it once. Then it was there for breakfast and was lucky that I could get a table directly, because in the large guest room there are only 6 tables and a tiny cat table for 2 people. Stir eggs with tomatoes and fresh peppermint tea were delicious, overall faster and good service. Unfortunately, the children present were very loud, so it wasn't really breakfast atmosphere. Whoever lives nearby should go, whoever lives further away does not necessarily have to come by.
The Bistro Herr Spoerl is a little hidden in a court entrance of Tussmannstraße. The beautiful well-maintained old house, however, immediately sprays so much charm that you will not remember at all a Düsseldorf backyard but rather a French country house. The Bistro offers a cozy beer garden, but it is hopelessly overcrowded in beautiful weather, so better to reserve a table beforehand. But also inside Mr. Spoerl makes a lot. The facility is cozy, rustic but nevertheless very bright and also sprays this farmhouse arm . The menu is rather small, in my opinion a sign for the good quality of the kitchen. There is always the speciality of the house, fresh land bread with various appetizers and changing Mediterranean light dishes, which I have always found very tasty. My special recommendation is the milk coffee, which is served in a huge French Bol, and there is always a marzipan chick. I always stayed there in the evening and found it every time very pleasant, nice staff and a good kitchen. Prices are ok for Bistros in this corner of Düsseldorf.
