Bidra med feedbackWe had a delivery from Bombay Pantry, Rathfarnham, this evening and once again we were more than thrilled with our food. We generally get food from the Bombay Pantry every few months as Indian is my favourite food, and we always get Chicken Karahi, which is beautiful. It's chunks of melt-in-the-mouth chicken, sliced peppers, red onions and a myraid of different herbs and spices in a rich spicy tomato-based curry. We always get ours Medium spiced but they do Hot too if you prefer it fiery. I did notice tonight, however, that the Medium tasted a bit spicier than normal. This was fine with us as we like heat, but if you don't like spicy food, you might want to try something else. (I meant to mention we had the Meal Deal for Two; two mains, 1 rice, 1 naan and two starters, for €22.50) As usual, the accompanying Basmati rice was fluffy and light, the naan bread was soft, delicious and not doughy/chewy like some places serve. We also enjoyed the Onion Bhajis as they're so tasty and have a lovely texture. We've been customers of the Bombay Pantry since 2012 and we've never used any other Indian takeaway. Nowhere is like the Bombay Pantry; it's unique and the awards they've won over the years speaks volumes about their reputation. Whenever I pop down to collect an order, the staff are always friendly and helpful and I also love that you can actually see the chefs working in the open plan kitchen. I would highly recommend the Bombay Pantry to anyone who fancies an Indian which is authentic and delicious.
I have gotten bombay pantry on many occasions. I'm devoted to Chicken Tikka Masala and there's is delicious. However I often find it get cold very quickly and this has happened on a few occasions. Even after heating plates
{uid:15651093} this is my fav Indian takeaway near me always so fresh and tasty and staff are lovely. My healthy option here is Goan Hunters Chicken curry I like it medium to hot with basmati rice. Another fav dish of mine is butter chicken masala with basmati rice and I order this medium to hot. Naam when I'm ordering I get garlic naam it's very yummy.
If I could give no stars I would. We said we would try a different Indian to our local in Rathfarnham. But never again. Firstly our drinks were not delivered with our food. Small thing. Opened the food and the rice was crunchy to say the least. But I was told on the phone thats normal. Maybe they need to tell other restaurants how to cook their food then because everyone else have not got Chewy crunchy rice. The bread was as cold as a sliced pan. The Korma was warm to say the least and the biryani came with this bland cucumber type sauce. The manager on the phone could at best offer me more rice and bread but had no drivers so that would take ages, not much good as the rest of your already cold meal would even grow colder. If I wanted reheated food I would order the day before and reheat. Basically if you want good Indian food go to your local Indian owned and run Indian restaurant and not a fast food one like this. Actually I'd go to Macdonald before I'd go here again.
My absolute favourite Indian in all of Dublin! Such a tasty and diverse menu and every aspect is made with such attention to detail. I'm a big fan of their butter chicken with coriander naan but the menu also caters for people on paleo or restrictive diets- I've ordered these dishes a few times and I have to say they're very tasty! They've a very good deal for 2 where you can order 2 mains, a starter, 1 rice and 1 naan for approx €30. I'd suggest ordering to collect as the delivery times can be in excess of 45 mins and once I was waiting over an hour- but the demand speaks for itself- really well made Indian food which doesn't leave you feeling unwell afterwards!
