Bidra med feedbackAfter attempting to call the restaurant with no answer, we decided to stop by for dinner on our way through Dubbo. Unfortunately, we discovered that the restaurant was closed and had gone into liquidation. After a long day of traveling, we were extremely disappointed.
This restaurant has never been known for setting the bar high when it comes to Chinese cuisine, but the mix of Chinese and European styles was appealing. However, there has been a decline in standards since new management took over in the last few months. We gave them another chance last Friday, but unfortunately, they failed to impress. I started with some fresh prawns that were sweet and firm, but they were served slightly thawed and limp. Next, I tried some noodles with chili sauce, which was an improvement from previous visits. I also had some fried fish with a slightly sweeter sauce. The sweet and sour pork was disappointing as it was mostly batter with very little pork. The dessert of jelly was poorly made and overly sweet. The restaurant offers a variety of drinks but they are on the pricier side. Overall, this restaurant is more suited for those looking for a quick meal rather than quality food.
Having been here before, it appears that the management and food quality have not improved much. However, it is still fine for a casual meal. I took my time and enjoyed the food. At times, I found it challenging to eat as it was kept warm for too long. I recommend not going during quiet hours, as the food may not be as fresh. Despite these minor issues, it is still a good option considering the price and ambiance.
Two weeks on the street holiday in nsw and queensland and we thought we would try the buffet at the sports club in dubbo. it wasn't our best decision while we were gone. the barman was too busy on his iphone and esse. in the back office to offer any kind service and when he finally served us and actually said something, it was as if he was under pressure to say something. eating in the buffet was just reasonable, but it wasn't something we would go back for. the one solution was the lady who took our money for the buffet, who smiled and very kind.
If you value quantity over quality then this place may appeal to you. For everyone else, save your money and go elsewhere. Some dishes were OK, but there were many that were below average.
