Bidra med feedbackOn this visit I ordered a pulled pork burger. And also a kids fish goujon meal. The goujons, which they call baubles were four in number and came with a small chip and a frozen slush drink of your choosing. The burger was so big and heavy and as I asked for extra bbq sauce became a huge gooey mess. I eat less than half, but more my fault than Smokey's. It is a clean friendly and busy place. Recommended.
If you're ever in the area, be sure to give Smokeys in Castlewellan a call. Despite the abundance of carry-out options, including a chip trailer that doesn't pay rates, this Albanian/Italian restaurant stands out for their delicious chips and fish dishes. I particularly enjoyed the fresh cod fish balls, which they call baubles but I would describe as goujons. At £4.50, the price is fair and the dish is delicious. I always make it a point to support Smokeys, as their kebabs and other offerings never disappoint. Give them a try - you won't be disappointed.
I recently visited a restaurant run by a friendly Albanian family that serves fish and chips, kebabs, and pizza. I decided to try the single cod for 4.50 GBP and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. The batter was crispy and light, while the fish itself was tender and white. The service was quick and efficient, and I highly recommend this place for a satisfying meal.
I visited this restaurant a while back and initially thought they had closed because they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. It was very crowded this past Friday night. The chicken is flame grilled right in front of you. I ordered a marinated and flame grilled chicken kebab on nan bread with house and chili sauce and salad. At $6.50, it's a bit pricey. The chicken was delicious, but there wasn't much salad. The portion size was good. The Albanian boss and other staff were friendly. It's definitely worth another visit - a hidden gem. Give it a try!
