One of the nicest restaurants I've ever been to. It is truly a very unique experience to eat at Arva while having a perfect view of the Grand Canal of Venice. Everything you want out of a class restaurant like this one, not to mention the great service and staff that even threw in one or two complimentary things. My order was entirely off my waiter’s recommendations as I chose to trust him and God it did not dissapoint Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

It was nice to see the decor and experience the grandeur of the building. However, in the restaurant itself the head waiter (or maitre d or whatever his formal title might be) came across as quite snooty and overall the food wasn 't as good as I 'd hoped. While the risotto was great, the fillet steak was quite dry even though I 'd asked for medium rare. Additionally, there wasn 't enough sauce on the plate (though the sauce was great) and the response he gave was We will take it under advisement in a dismissive way. The green ravioli fell completely flat and the bread wasn 't anything that stood out. But the biggest problem I had was that I 'm pretty sure we were swindled. I 'd picked a wine that I 'm 99% sure was an even dollar amount that ended in two zeros. That 's why I remember the price so clearly. And yet at the end of the evening, the check had it at 10% more. When I asked to see the wine list, the maitre d seemed almost ready for the question because he chose a menu and turned to the page our wine was on before even handing it to me, and sure enough, there it was at the 10% higher price. I would have chalked it up to a mistake, but I also noticed something at the bottom of the bill. a €30 supplement . That was the whole description. Not sure we 'll visit again as there are much more enjoyable places to eat in Venice and arguably with a much friendlier, warm staff.

Unforgettable experience, very high quality cuisine in a magical environment. The service was excellent. Worthy of further note is the cocktail that was served to us before dinner!
