Bidra med feedbackThe house was not open on the day we visited (we knew it before, so not disappointed) but the walk to the hut from the visitor center was nice.
Being a Disabled NT member I saved on the car park and on the tour of his cottage and gardens. The café sold hot as well as cold food and the toilets were clean. Roughly took 1.5 hours. The shop sold some of his books as well as the usual souvenirs. I enjoyed the walk up from the carpark through the woods and I returned by the lane which was less steep. Well worth a visit
The parking lot is conveniently located, although there is a fee unless you are a National Trust member. The visitor center is impressively designed and very inviting. Inside, the restrooms are clean, and the café offers a great selection with both indoor and outdoor seating. Oh my goodness, you have to try the cake! We had the warmed Dorset apple cake with cream, and it was absolutely delicious. Information about the area is readily available, along with suggestions for various walking trails.
The café is beautifully decorated and offers nice amenities, including clean restrooms and information about hiking trails complete with maps. It's a great spot!
The Hardy's Cottage Visitors Centre offers a range of amenities including informative displays about the local nature, clean restrooms, and convenient card payment options for parking. There is also a café with both indoor and outdoor seating. The café features a variety of lunch options, including several vegetarian choices like toasties (highly recommend the cranberry and brie!), jacket potatoes, and more. Additionally, they serve hot and cold drinks, as well as cakes and snacks. Overall, it’s a great spot for a quick lunch or a break while visiting the holiday home.
