There is a handful of good Barbacoa and Carnitas places around the city, but this is probably the best. In this part of Mexico, Barbacoa is made from sheep or goat meat, generally cooked in a “good” under the soil and over coals, all packed in cactus leaves – magic actually. Carnitas are pork, usually cooked in their own larvae in a large open metal (stainless steel or copper) vessels over an open fire. You can find both at De Quen Chon and you can order at the Taco to the Kilo neighborhood, half kilo, whatever. They also have consommé, which is delicious, “café de olla”, and fresh pressed orange juice available. Every time I visit, I like the “gordas de migajas” with the salsa “pico de gallo” as well. The place began more than 30 years ago, as a cardboard snack, and since that time has grown, but still great service and great food – for meat lovers of course. It is a bit crowded from about 11 am to 2 pm on Saturdays and Sundays, especially on holiday weekends, but the parking lot is plentiful before or on the other side of the road. He ido a comer a este lugar muchas veces, cada que visito a mi tía es obligatorio ir por tu consome y unos tacos de barbacoa de borrego y a veces una gordita de carnitas. Siempre nos han atenido bien y los precios se me hacen justos para el sazón y atención.

Exquisita, barbacoa de borrego, montalayo y consomé de lujo, además de Carnitas, tacos tortas, gorditas de migajas. Todo tipo de bebidas, refrescos, aguas frescas y jugo de naranja.Mi recomendación si van solos; pidan $50.00 pesos de maciza o surtida, más un consomé chico y un jugo de naranja para comer allí. Todo esto me salio en $90.00 pesos, hace como 3 meses.Además cuando fuí aceptan tarjeta en pago mínimo de $70.00 pesos. Vayan por la mañana temprano antes de las 10:00 am. u 11:00 am. Excelente ambiente familiar, tienen estacionamiento y buen trato der meseros.
