The Railroad Cafe - Dolores

Not great but it was just opened maybe jitters. Will give another shot.

We 're summer residents of Dolores and this cafe is new to us. It wasn 't here last year. We are always looking for a good vegan or vegeterian restaurant without any luck. This cafe doesn 't feature vegan food but the waiter said they are working on an alternative menu . They did have some good ideas for us and although we didn 't order it they had a portabello mushroom burger. I had a BLT on grilled sourdough and took the bacon home for our pups. My husband had their big salad and an order of onion rings and 1/2 of my sandwich. The food was good and tasty. They offered a choice of lettuces which were very fresh and crispy and I thought was nice. The waiter was special and she really went out of her way to make sure we were satisfied. The reason I didn 't give it all 5 stars is that it would have been stellar if they had a crusty artisan bread rather than supermarket sourdough. We will definitely go back again.

I come from Durango to eat the best onion rings ANYWHERE. Tonight it was duck. All I can say is WOW! Everything from a fantastic Buffalo chicken sandwich to duck and lobster specials. Chef Brian is special. Fantastic food not to be missed. You will be glad you made your way to Dolores.

Awesome place to eat I live in California and ate there last nite will eat rest tonight lol I couldn't eat it all last night best chicken fried steak I've had I'll go back next time I'm there

Food was delicious. Very good service. Country fried steaks are huge and very good.
