Bidra med feedbackThe fish is decent, but the serving sizes are pathetic. I ordered the combo, which is supposed to be tuna roll, salmon roll, and California roll. What I received was the tiniest excuse for rolls I have ever seen at any sushi restaurant in my entire life. I complained to them about the size, and they reluctantly said that they would make them larger. All they did was add some rice to each roll, as if I somehow wouldn't know. I didn't have time to stay and continue to argue, so I'm just going to vow to never go here again. By point of comparison, I go to a sushi restaurant in Utah that has a similar deal choose any 3 rolls for $13. What they serve are their regular size rolls, and they're HUGE (each one is the size of two at this place put together). I don't like the fact that they short change their customers, nor that they lie by saying that they will correct it but then do absolutely nothing. I can no longer recommend this restaurant, and I will never go here again.
We were excited for a pleasant meal, but had to leave before our entrees arrived after spotting a cockroach running across the wall between the booths. Absolutely not! If there's one in the dining area, there are likely more in the kitchen.
Their menu features sushi, bento boxes, teriyaki dishes, and steak hibachi, so you don't have to worry if raw fish isn’t your thing. It’s perfect for a date night—your companion will surely be pleased! I ordered the Dream roll, and it’s truly delightful! It contains crab and shrimp, topped with ahi tuna and drizzled with savory sauces, all wrapped in soy paper instead of seaweed. Simply perfect! My husband chose the chicken teriyaki bento box, which includes a little bit of everything—ideal for his hearty appetite. The chicken was tender and bursting with flavor. I feel fortunate that our small part of Kansas has such a fantastic sushi restaurant nearby! It’s definitely a place worth visiting!
The food is excellent, especially the torta, which is outstanding. The only downside is that the menu has a limited selection of options. Despite that, I highly recommend it!
Upon our arrival, there were only two other tables occupied, but soon after, we found ourselves alone. I ordered the jazz roll, which the menu described as containing spicy yellowtail inside, topped with yellowtail and jalapeño, as well as mackerel nigiri. The server confirmed my order, and Eric R. ordered the salmon family roll, which included spicy salmon inside, topped with salmon and ikura, along with a rainbow roll. My order came out first on a large platter (see photo). However, instead of sushi, I received sashimi for the mackerel. The two servers were busy cleaning, so one of them approached the sushi chef and informed him about the mistake. He acknowledged that it was indeed meant to be sushi and promised to rectify it. Things took a turn when one of the servers came over to take my plate while I was still eating my roll. I was bewildered and told her I was still enjoying my food. She insisted that she wanted to remove the sashimi and bring me the correct sushi. I told her I wasn't comfortable with sending my plate back and asked her to leave it and just bring the mackerel nigiri when it was ready. Another server then approached me with a small plate and requested to remove the sashimi from my plate using her bare hands! I was taken aback, as it's not only unsanitary but also against health codes to serve items that have already been served to someone else. I told her to leave it alone. Eventually, the chef did bring out the mackerel nigiri, but the other server again asked to take the sashimi. I said that if she was just going to throw it away, I might as well eat it. Eric R. piped up, stating that since it was their mistake, they should let us keep it, as most other restaurants would do. When the server brought us the check, she informed us that the chef insisted we pay for the sashimi because I had eaten some of it. We felt this was poor service, especially since the initial mix-up was the chef's fault for misreading the ticket. Moreover, if the server had indeed picked it up with her hands, it raised concerns about the place’s cleanliness. I usually evaluate the quality of a sushi restaurant through its mackerel, as house-cured mackerel can be delicate and outstanding. Typically, sushi spots with a limited nigiri and sashimi menu would avoid serving mackerel due to its acquired taste, making it not a popular choice in rural Kansas. However, since it was on the menu, I had hoped for a good experience. Unfortunately, the mackerel tasted like it had been partially defrosted from frozen, which was disappointing. The rolls also contained ingredients that weren't mentioned in the menu; the jazz roll had bits of fried tempura batter, and the salmon family roll included both krab and tempura bits that were not advertised. The only redeeming quality of this place seems to be that it is open on a Sunday night.
