Bidra med feedbackFound some nice watermelon at $9 each but was an excellent melon. Almost black color outside but crispy and sweet inside . Nice place to stop with an easy exit off Hwy 80. Has a bathroom which was a requirement for my wife to stop there.
Ice cream is yummyGotnuts may be mislabeled--my onion garlic is more salty than flavored, my jalapeño was more sour than jalapeño.
This is a large fruit stand that markets much more than they should. They offer fresh and dried fruit, nuts, honey, cute items and many concoctions and combinations of food with a multitude of seasonings and coatings (such as yogurt, coconut, chocolate) for spicy, sweet, salty tastes. There is a HUGE problem with food quality and item 's are pricey as well. The first time I went I bought various expensive things. The checker asked if I wanted the receipt. I should have taken it. It was a Mother 's Day gift and was awful, inedible and embarrassing. The fruit is subpar. You 're not supposed to taste the fruit before you buy, so I asked the seller if the cherries were sweet. He shrugged and said I don 't know . I bought them anyway and they were tasteless, not sweet and the texture of some other fruits I bought were odd. The bagged nuts looked great, but they were extremely rancid (smell taste). They don 't have a sell-by date so they might be on that shelf for years until they get sold. Two stars for ambiance, ample parking and polite staff.
I loathe bait switch tactics. Anything dishonest riles me up.If you see signs advertising great prices, don 't count on it. Sign said 69¢/lb oranges. No such thing. Annoyed, I bought a bag anyway. They were nice heavy juicy. $10 for 10 lb. Peeled nicely fresh. However, bland AF. And over the advertised price. Complete waste of my money.Nasty restroom. Party due to being right off I-80 and not much else for restroom options. Not entirely their fault but a lot of it is.Everything inside is priced high, if prices are posted. Everything is basically $10 or more. Place sells mostly jam, nuts, honey, and pistachios of various flavors.Don 't fall for the quarters cemented to the floor by the registers. Who is such a jerk that they find that funny at a produce stand? Also, if you 're excited about the wild game jerky, be sure to check the label. You 'll see they 're likely 50/50 of chosen meat and some other meat. Not likely to taste great, either.I won 't be returning.
Not quite a fruit stand, although they do sell fruit. They sell more nuts than anything. Pistachios to be specific. In every flavor imaginable. Even tequila flavor. Yes, tequila. There are also lots of jams, jellies, preserves, fruit butters, a variety of dried fruit, and a small offering of bulk candy. They also offer exotic and game meat jerky.I came for the homemade pistachio ice cream which did NOT disappoint. They offer single serve cups as well as pints (or was it quarts? . Good thing too because I LOVE pistachio ice cream and would have happily eaten an entire pint (possible quart if I absolutely had to I also bought a bag of salt and lemon pistachios for myself and some alligator jerky for my best friend. The pistachios were good, but unfortunately the flavor stays mainly on the shell because many of the pistachios have such narrow openings that it's hard for the flavor to get through. Nevertheless, they were still delicious.
