Bidra med feedbackI'm not a stranger to the service industry, and it really takes a lot to leave such a review. Tonight we went to El Mercadito with high hopes and came for the early service. First it seemed great, we received our starters, cocktails and appetizers in time. Our server was friendly and it seemed the night was a good start. Then we ordered a bottle of wine and two fillets of medium size. Then she disappeared. A long time later we got two steaks, no wine. We sat there for some time with the expectation of the server, but still nothing. After all, we thought the bartender might come by to ask if everything was okay. We told him we ordered a bottle of wine. He had no knowledge of our original server being nowhere to find. After another waiting, he brought the wine. We then cut into our lukewarm steaks, just to find out they were done well. So well done that the table would shake while cutting the meat. Ultimately, we saw our original server in one section on another floor. It didn't make any sense. After we had asked that we waited forever and had to go to the bar to ask for the bill you gave a tip. Even under the worst circumstances, my Propina would have been better, but that was the border. Do not claim to be fresh and friendly if you are anything but that
The atmosphere of this place is so beautiful, magical and romantic, it deserves five stars for it. But the food and service is only average, and the chairs are uncomfortable. A small menu with some strange choices. For example, the night we were there, the toston of the day was sour with apples and cherries. This is usually a lot of molten bride, with some fruit, but not here. Toast stacked with CANDIED apples and cherries and then with three miniscule pieces of Brie made this more of a dessert than the main plate that it should be. The pasta that others ordered was completely slandered. Food, average service, but very nice environment.
This restaurant was recommended by the hotel and we are looking forward to exploring the city. The place is very rustic and that had its charm picnic tables, rustic style. We look forward to the local cuisine and experience. Maybe... do we have it? We waited for order for over 20 minutes, but three more tables were served and drinks delivered to us! We finally drew attention to the waiters and made a simple order. Two sandwiches and a bottle of wine. 25 minutes. Nothing. They come out and say our bottle is no longer available, so we accept their substitution that we have asked for the house wine as a substitute... neither! We are in the heart of Mendoza. When the wine comes five minutes later, it is the one we originally asked. A common brand in the area. Then we waited another 25 minutes for our two sandwiches pulled pork and Lomito Steak sandwich). So if you want to wait for your food for over an hour, this is the place! I think the ruble here is that they showed very little empathy, attention or desire to correct the situation. We asked why it was so long and the waiter commented that he had to repair a water machine and serve other tables. He hasn't checked for us after this....a classic inexperienced waiter who tries to recognize and diffuse the situation. In summary bad service and simply “ok” food. To make it even more ridiculous, he asked us directly whether we will pay his tip!
El Mercadito was recommended by our hotel. We had a nice meal here. The atmosphere was great and there were fairy lights added to the ambience. They had a good selection of drinks. We chose the Mojitos that were strong and fresh. The food was also very nice and the staff friendly. I'd definitely go back. However, I would say that prices here were more expensive than in other places we visited in Argentina, although they seem typical of the area.
My family and I ate here 2 evenings in a row. The first night was awesome!!! Would have given it the 5 stars, however we returned the next night as it was that good) and I am unsure what happened. We ordered many of...the same dishes and to our surprise, this was not the same food. Flavors, ingredients and textures were completely different. According to them it was the same chef, but we would not have returned if we had eaten the second nights dishes on the first night.
