Charan Singh Kulfi Kala Khatta - Delhi

Charan Singh ki kulfi is very famous across Delhi. Have seen people coming from far off places , late night, just to have his kulfis. Kaala khatta Gola is amazing to have in summers. One of his best.

Right in the middle of the parking lot of South Ex 2 market, you would find a white van parked during the evenings. Though it is very easy to overlook, the people who have been coming to this van for its delicious kulfis, will always vouch for the taste. While the prices have really gone up over the years, they have managed to maintain the taste. What is great about their kulfis is that they all have actual fruit pulp in them. We recently had two of their most famous flavors- jamun and sharifa (custard apple), and were simply blown away.  The jamun one was more of a sorbet instead of a kulfi, and it was packed with flavor, and topped with a delicious chatpata masala, and had lots of jamun fruit in it. The sharifa one was also really creamy and tasty, and the chunks of fruit in it were great!This is a nice stop-over to have a quick dessert post dinner, and should certainly be tried!

Innocuous, easy to overlook and difficult to find is your Charan Sing Kulfi wala. These guys offer their Kulfu/chuski from a car (van) that is parked in front of Ahuja Sons at South ex-II. Stationed from evening till midnight, they also do home delivery (travel cost to be borne by you). <br/ <br/ The Jammun Kulfi is just phenomenal, natural jammun flavor with chunks of jammun in it, more in the nature of a frozen fruit dessert than a kulfi. Have tried their Anar, Strawberry, Pineapple and other fruit flavours, but the jammun kulfi is a standout. I also tried their mango kulfi which was average. I am told that their chuski’s are also pretty good. <br/ <br/ Definitely try their Jammun Kulfi, for the rest I will say decent fruit flavours/kulfi.

There are kulfiwalas and kulfi joints all across Delhi, some being very popular in their trade.<br/ <br/ However, this is one place which has outstanding kulfis and a lot of variety as well. Been here number of times in last 3 years and have had mango kulfi, stuffed mango kulfi, jamun kulfi and falsa kulfi. All are very nice, with jamun and falsa being the tangy ones sprinkled with masala.<br/ <br/ The best out of them is the mango stuffed kulfi, with a whole deseeded mango stuffed with kulfi! Very unique and delectable!
