Bidra med feedbackMy friends and I decided to stop at this restaurant on our way to Sudbury. The service was quick, but in return, we received the most unique poutine we have ever tried. I had never tasted a dish of brown gravy and potatoes before. We ended up picking out the cheese and continuing our journey.
I frequently visit Chalk River three or four times a year and always make sure to stop at Mr. Hotdog. I usually stop for lunch during the day and appreciate their quality food, reasonable prices, generous portions, and friendly service. They are always adding new items to their menu, so there is always something new to try. The washrooms are clean and well stocked. I highly recommend anyone passing through Chalk River on Highway #17 to stop at Mr. Hotdog, as they will not be disappointed.
My friends and I decided to stop by this place on our way to Sudbury. The service was fast, but in exchange we were given the most interesting poutine we have ever eaten. I have never eaten a plate of brown salt gravy and potatoes in my life. We kind of picked out the cheese and headed back on the road.
Based on a friend's recommendation, I decided to try Mr. Hot Dog and I was incredibly pleased with my experience. The poutine was exceptional, with perfectly crispy fries and delicious St. Albert curds. It was the first time I had poutine without overly salty gravy, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would highly recommend trying this place if you are in the area.
I was looking for somewhere to stop on my way back to Ottawa and decided on Mr. Hotdog based on the reviews here. I was completely disappointed. The fries were from a bag and the gravy was relatively tasteless. Even real St. Albert cheese curds couldn't save this poutine. My son's hotdog was good.
