Bidra med feedbackTo avoid the rush, traffic, and other woes of going to see a show downtown this is a good place to take advantage of it before a show as it is inside the theatre. The food and drinks were good however they were not $100 good for a couple. Server was very friendly and in fact tried to talk me out of the ribs claiming they were dry. However that comes with the territory of a pastrami rub style meat. I was not excepting them to be fall off the bone southern BBQ good. In fact they were the meat only, no bone to fall off of, this was a fine dining experience. A bit on the pricey side so it appears you are paying for the location and convenience.
Citilites is okay for lunch but lacks consistency in their food quality, staff hospitality, and social media presence. You never know if your same old dish is going to be prepare like it was the last time or even have the same ingredients. When you ask the servers what is in a dish they do not know or omit some of the ingredients. Co-workers and I have eaten in and ordered out for a working lunch from here and have gotten our order wrong even without substitutions. Wait times to get your waiter or waitress attention for your order or to cash out are abnormally long even if you go early on a slow day. Weve adapted ask for our checks as we've order and still had to wait 20 minutes after we received our food to receive the checks not mentioning the additional 15 to get our credit cards back. We don't even receive comment cards with our checks most of the time anymore. Many times when you call to hear the specials because they do not update their Facebook page at the same time everyday (even after an hour into lunch) they won't answer the phone. When you dine in on the inside you can constantly hear the phone ringing unanswered. When Citilites has a good day, their food is delicious but it difficult to know what you will get for the price you are paying.
We are not hard to please when it comes to food. For $70 we could have enjoyed so many other restaurants more. We were so hungry when we left and stopped at McDonalds on our way home. The food wasn’t bad, but the value for money was terrible. Our waitress was fine but we never got a refill of our water. I wanted to have the tomato soup that everyone raves about and tried to add the crab cakes to the soup but couldn’t. The crab cakes were more meatballs than cakes. So I forwent the soup and got the meal. It was served with almost an entire lemon, three itty bitty wedges of the saddest mandarin orange slices and some lettuce leaves. My husband was served raw mushrooms lightly salted with some not so rosemary potatoes. The ribeye caps were decent. Honestly, IKEA food is more enjoyable overall. It’s not that it was bad food, they just seemed more concerned with presentation than actually pleasing their patrons. On the up side, the house moscato was yummy.
My co-workers and I tried to go to Citilites for lunch, as we've done several times in the past. Unfortunately they changed their lunch menu and dramatically increased their prices. The veggie burger was previously $9, now $14. There are now only 2 options (tomato bisque and garden salad) under $10. They've just priced themselves too high for what you get. Sorry to say, we won't be back until changes are made.
Beautiful ambiente and eating is fair prices, given the location. the food itself was mediocre and the portions were on the smaller side. I think they could expand the menu a little. the service was fantastic. our waitress was attentive and eating quickly came out. it is a beautiful place to go in a comfortable location before a show a more shady.
