I love Wheat Penny. It’s a favorite spot for me and my coworkers to get carryout lunch or after-work dinner a beer or glass of wine. The service is always amazing; staff are knowledgeable about vegan, and they’re so friendly. The Eggplant Fries are super popular (skip the yogurt sauce) and they’re good, but they’re a bit on the salty side for me. Their pizza crust is phenomenal crispy on the bottom, and charred-chewy-air-pocket perfection on top. My tip: SKIP EVERYTHING ELSE and get the ‘Veganator’ pizza. The smoked jackfruit and cashew ricotta really elevate this vegan pie; it’s SO GOOD. The vegan items on this menu don’t feel like an afterthought. Updated from previous review on 2021-08-01

It’s relatively expensive and I got the fried cauliflower burger. It was okay, but the portion sizes were somewhat small for the price $14 I think? I could have made this meal at home and it would have tasted better and been cheaper. Maybe the other things are better on the menu, but for me it’s not worth the price.

They have great California style pizzas that can be made with vegan cheese. I had the veganator and it was wonderful!

This place was great. I went with my wife and parents. My wife and I are vegetarian and my parents are not and all 4 of us loved the food we got. I highly recommend this place for anyone with mixed diets in your party.
