Bidra med feedbackIn the almost forty strange years I went to halifax, I have to admit I don't spend much time over the harbour. this is especially true for eating. there are only too many possibilities to think in halifax, even in the far away. this last trip. down there I agreed to meet an old friend before I flew home, and when he lives and works on the dartmouth side we agreed to meet and eat there. he chose the pilot pub to one of his regular spots. first is the place. it is about 30 minutes walk or a short drive from the city of dartmouth in woodside. however, it is really convenient when coming from the Halifax page, as it is literally steps away from the woodside ferry terminal. as the name would suspect that there is a neighborhood pub is nothing imaginative, but clean and welcoming. large windows overlook the harbour and there is also a small terrace with the same view. there are as in most nowa scotia facilities there is a separate space full of video slot machines. the menu is what I call standard pig duck, burger, wing and such with some atlantic canada options as chowder added. we had both fish and chips and I was impressed. haddock, not cadjau or halibut, with only the correct amount of teig, not too thick, not too thin. there was a good selection of local beeing on tap including some very fine microbrows and I would recommend a pint or two of nine curls dirty blonde to wash the fish and chips. a good lunch, nice atmosphere, great view and good food. I will definitely visit the ferry again at my next.
The restaurant offers a menu mainly focused on seafood, but unfortunately, the seafood truck had not arrived during our visit, resulting in a limited selection. Despite this, the majority of our meals were enjoyable. The wings were particularly delicious, and the service was also good.
Sarah is an incredible server that is eating is always consistent and tasty plus they have to house cut frits that are phenomenal!
We stumbled upon this waterfront cafe accidentally, after missing the place we were originally intending to go to. It turned out to be a great decision. Popular among locals, this cafe offers comfortable seating and a great view of the Halifax skyline. The pub has a menu that is mainly focused on seafood, which is well-priced, but also offers plenty of other options. The special of the day when we visited was panko-crusted, pan-fried haddock. The portions were generous, with a large fillet of fresh fish, served with a starch and steamed carrots and turnips. Make sure you come hungry because the portions are quite large - I struggled to finish my meal and my wife had to take half of hers home. This cafe is definitely worth a visit. I would give it three and a half stars, but since TripAdvisor doesn't offer half-star ratings, I'll give it three stars.
I've given this place several opportunities to perform but like most attempts, this past visit was a mistake. A small group of us left the office and went for lunch here. I was pulled along, as I had nothing but bad experiences in the past....We were seated quickly and our orders were taken quite quickly, which is important because we are on a clock during lunch. The drinks arrived rather quickly but it took 30 minutes for our food to arrive. I was told that my order would take longer for some reason, so waited an extra 5 minutes. When it arrived, the outside was burnt and the inside was still cool. I had no time to have anything done about it, so i ate the meal. It was not very good at all. The portion was fair, but **** food is **** food, no matter how much there is. We paid our bills and went back to our office, but the wait time for our meals dominated the talk for the next couple of days. I can not recommend this place to anyone i like.
