Big Poppa’s - Darlinghurst

Can't fault this restaurant. It is open late and caters for a diverse range of groups. The wine list by the glass is ample, the staff are attentive but not intrusive and the food quality is excellent. For the gluten free diner, the staff are knowledgeable and helpful and the kitchen provide prompt answers. Cheese board was excellent as were the meatballs.

We were here for dinner, on a cold Tuesday night, and what could have been a local gem, was just too hard to enjoy. The food was well prepared, and the wine was good. The service was efficient and attentive, and the decore was Oxford St Industrial, but the noise (not music) was deafening and really uncomfortable. Apparently, there was a DJ and party downstairs , but the noise was booming through the restaurant sound system. Not only was it deafening, the rap was full of expletives and very demeaning of all those hoes out there. The food menu is limited, but well prepared and plentiful, and it has expansive drink options, Are we just too old for this place?: Don 't think so, as the waitress apologized for the noise. Improved experience (turn off the upstairs speakers, or close the restaurant when hosting a party) would have delivered a higher rating. Definitely not somewhere you 'd take kids before vetting the music choices.

This was an absolutely delicious meal, the pasta was so fresh and the flavors were familiar but brand new as well. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend, fun cool atmosphere.

We were visiting Sydney from the UK, and met with friends we hadn 't seen for ages. It would 've been nice to be able to enjoy each others company, but instead we were treated to blaring music blasting from all directions and reverberating off the cold hard walls. The wait staff looked like they were dead behind the eyes, and it 's not wonder when the venue feels like a prison. And it 's getting so old to have small plates dining explained to me like it was something original. Vegetarian options limited. Food was tasty but completely unable to enjoy it because the venue was so try hard trendy.

This is a great venue for late night dining. It is a cocktail bar and restaurant with a great selection of cheeses for every taste!
