Route 27 Roosterkoek - Darling

I've had roosterkoek at this lekker padstal on the West Coast Road a few times, but this was the first time with my family. Hubby and son devoured theirs in no time! Egg, bacon cheese and the other was egg, biltong and cheese, a bit of a South African Twist with the addition of biltong. My chicken mayo roosterkoek was yummy, just a pity it was already cool. I was too hungry to ask them to warm it up. It's a great spot to stop for a break while roadtrippng and to stock up on biltong, biscuits and other treats. Definitely ask for a mug of moerkoffie. That'll wake you up in no time!

Great place to stop on the R27. Tried the curry mince Roosterkoek and it was delicious. Also sells Biltong, Jam, rusks etc. Watch out for the funny signage.

The food and atmosphere was great but they did not have lactose free milk or substitues for coffee or hot chocolate drinks.

A beautiful stop on the way to Langebaan, the food was amazing and the service was lovely. We ordered the jam and cheese roosterkoek and it was phenomenal. Great to share for a quick bite between two, with very good cappuccino’s. Will definitely be stopping here again.

Great midway stop up the west coast , delicous fresh roosterkoek , service was fantastic and a nice fun and quirkly atmosphere.
