My wife and I went here thinking it was going to be a nice chill environment as one would think a “ cafe “ would be. The entire time the manager was yelling at his staff and being extremely rude to them in front of a dining room full of customers. Then he proceeded to say “ men work harder than women “ and proceeded to talk about only wanting to work somewhere so he could get with the ladies. He made such a hostile work and eating environment. I’m shocked anyone chooses to work here. He would belittle his staff for any issues that happened. He stated he was “ hangry “ so he started to make himself food and when he was finished he slammed put the hot plate down and loudly ordered his staff to put it away. He was so obnoxious. If our sever wasn’t as nice as he was I wouldn’t have paid for my meal. I will absolutely never return here. And to add we got 2 coffees and a small slice of cheesecake and it was over 40$. Worst place ever!
I enjoyed every meal here and the tea was wonderful. After meeting the owner and rest of the staff, I felt my money was going to good people; they truly shape the atmosphere. I will soon be revisiting and sharing this treasured resturant with my friends. I wish I found Rays sooner.
Small quiet cafe in china town. There are signs that say no cell phones but really they just don’t want you talking on the phone or web conferencing to keep the chill vibes. Most of the food is a bit pricey but the breakfast sandwich is cheap and worth it. They do have great coffee and tea. There is a fancy selection of coffees and teas for around $15 each which are definitely nice but not worth it on the regular.
I really liked the house brew iced coffee. I tried the cold brew as well but preferred the house iced coffee over it. Got mine mocha flavored. Breakfast sandwich was good as well. Parking: Tough to find a spot anywhere in Chinatown
