Bidra med feedbackDriving from Rockwall to Fate, I discovered that the food truck was located at the end of a road that I couldn't access due to a nearby festival! I had my German Shepherd, who is still in training, with me, thinking it would be a quick trip to grab my food and go. I didn’t have her training collar on, but I figured we could manage. After parking at the entrance of the school across the street, I tried to navigate the sidewalk while dealing with my 75-pound rescue dog, who was eager to chase the horses nearby. Finally, I reached the food truck only to find a long wait ahead. I stood in line, thinking I just needed to tell the girl at the window that I was there to pick up my order. Unfortunately, it wasn’t until 7:20 PM that it was my turn to speak. When I asked about my order, I was told it wasn’t ready. At that point, I asked a kind woman in line to grab my two subs and two Whoopie Pies if they called out my name, and she sweetly inquired about my name. After I told her, she mentioned that she thought my name had already been called. I called out to anyone at the truck asking if my order was ready, and the girl behind the window told me it would be another 10 minutes. This long story short: I finally received my order, along with a complimentary bottle of water for my dog. However, when I got home and tried to eat my lobster sub, it wasn’t hot and definitely not a sub. The lobster was just on one piece of Texas toast without any bread! By this point, it was 8 PM. I ended up settling for peanut butter and went to bed after taking my dog out. I won’t be trying this again for nearly $70.
My husband and I have been eager to try Cousins Maine Lobster ever since we discovered it a couple of months ago, and we finally got the chance tonight. We ordered two Colorado rolls, a cup of lobster bisque with extra meat, and an order of tater tots. Unfortunately, we were mostly disappointed. The lobster meat was bland, and the sauce on the bread had an odd taste. The bisque was just okay, with a strong shrimp or seafood flavor that I found quite unappealing. The best part of our meal was definitely the tater tots. I would have given this place three stars, but the woman who took our order was very nice and friendly.
I ordered the lobster tacos, which were quite tasty, but I found the portion to be a bit too small for $22.00. I appreciated the generous amount of lobster, but I noticed that the cabbage, which was promised in the menu, was mostly absent from my order. I would consider visiting again, but next time I’ll make sure to check my order before leaving to ensure I get everything I was supposed to.
Friendly staff and clean truck with condiments and silverware in front. The Maine lobster roll chilled w/ mayo was great! It has a good amount of lobster meat, but I can tell the amount you receive varies. It came with a wedge of lemon and I requested a side of pico de gallo which added a burst of flavor. I also enjoyed the soft New England butter toasted bread. For $22 I feel the Maine lobster roll should come with a small bag of chips or a can soda.
Finally had the opportunity to try this food truck out. There isn't really any negative things to say. The food is fantastic and the staff is really helpful. They travel all over the metroplex, so it's fairly easy to try it out. You can order from their app, which saves so much time rather than standing in line waiting for your food. The only downside is that side is, is that most of the places they go to there is no outside seating to eat your food. So it's eat in your car or take it home. For the most part that is. It's pretty dang expensive, but that's because it's lobster.
