Bidra med feedbackFirstly, love the ambiance and the location! We had been to The mayors house by selda so definitely had high expectations and indeed this restaurant met all our expectations! Volcan took great care of us the moment we were seated he was extremely jolly and good to talk to! For the food, let me tell you everything was amazing! For the appetizers we had hummus, grilled eggplant salad, falafel and shishito peppers! For the entree we had the Adana chicken kebab and grilled branzino highly recommend both the dishes) and we finished off the meal with tea which btw was complimentary)! Overall, I highly recommend visiting this place! Trust me, you won 't be disappointed *__*
Food 3* Service 1* Ambiance 1* It must have been a really off day at Selda Mediterranean when I met my friend for a weeknight dinner. I did not have the stellar experience that my fellow Yelpers had. As I walked from the parking lot to the building, I had to step over a stream and puddle foul water draining from the restaurant. As I rounded the building corner to the front door, I saw a disgusting homeless lady with a shopping cart in the grassy area of the parking lot. Not only a terrible impression for a first visit, but a quick way to lose your appetite. There was a lady performing live music that was so loud we could not have any table conversation. To make it worse, this lady picked up her violin and stood next to our table. By the end of the night, my ears were ringing and my voice was hoarse from yelling with my friend on top of the awful loud live music. Both my friend and I ordered the pistachio meatball plate. Because the knafeh said on the menu that it takes 20 minutes, we ordered it with our meal order to share. The server only brought out one pistachio meatball plate and argued with us that we are sharing. He probably could not hear us over the loud live music. It took awhile for the second plate to arrive. It was either one of us eating in front of the other or the first plate was cold by the second plate arrived. The pistachio meatball was mediocre and not worth the wait. It was not a meatball, but more like a kofta kebab without the stick and drowned in sauce. There was no pistachio to be seen or tasted. The meat was terribly dry and overcooked. The accompanying white bean salad was more like an onion salad. Our knafeh was burned along the edges. Our server never checked on us after the main dish debacle. We had to flag him down to get the check, which he reluctantly split. No apology from the server or a manager shows that they did not care. The stream and puddle of foul water was there on our departure along with a bunch of kitchen guys leaning on the outside of the building like a bunch of homeless vagrants. Not good y'all.
Delicious Turkish food that comes out quickly and is very flavorful! We had a variety of dishes, but my favorites were the chicken adana and the vegetarian couscous. They were scrumptious and had me wanting more! The service was attentive and patient. This place was really popular for a weekday evening; it was completely packed and had lots of live music. We were a bit cramped sitting as a party of five in a booth, but this was the only table they had and the quick service and delicious food made up for it! Would definitely recommend making a reservation beforehand. I had a great experience and would recommend this place to folks looking for good Turkish food in a lively restaurant!
Very good and authentic food with great service. our waiter Volkan was very accommodating. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.
Nice clean ambience with smart use of space. Wish they had more seats at the bar. Service is very friendly and the hostess is very welcoming. I always feel like they want me to be there. Definitely recommend calling ahead for reservations because it was packed as usual. There is plenty of room to sit outside on the patio, but it is Dallas and it's 104° right now so I don't recommend that. Table service is good, but could be more attentive. We often had to flag our waiter down at different times during the meal. But he was always, willing to help immediately. We started with the garlic shrimp and the stuffed dates. Everyone liked both appetizers. The garlic shrimp were perfectly cooked. Despite all the garlic, they didn't taste too garlicky. The stuffed dates were really enjoyed by my wife and daughter, but I thought a bit too sweet for me. For entrées, two of us had the lamb shank which they both enjoyed. One was a bit overcooked, but the other was perfect. It's a large portion so have a good appetite or plan to take some home. The grilled salmon is cooked close to well done but was surprisingly good. I generally like my salmon medium to medium rare, but it was fine. I do think it was slightly overcooked though. For dessert, we tried the baklava. It comes four pieces with a scoop of ice cream. I think it was the best baklava I have ever had.Ttypically I'm not a fan of the dish because it is often overly sweet, but this one was not. Iit was very good. I would definitely recommend it.
