Bidra med feedbackUsually eat at dinner time and service, food and atmosphere are excellent! Since the closing announcement, we were only able to get lunch reservations, and that is a way different setup. We did not enjoy this lunch setup. We had to wait in a line to get served. Not the experience we were expecting. Don't recommend it. The service was bad today. Our waiter was young and must not be too experienced and we could tell by how bad he was at serving us. The busboy did better at helping us than he did. The other tables around us were served much better by a different waiter. We went to say goodbye to a wonderful place, but our last meal there was not a joyful final experience.
Lawry's has been a staple restaurant for me and my family since I was very young. I visited the one in Los Angeles on a regular basis. It had not visited any other of their locations since I left California 15 years ago. I was saddened to find out that they were going out of business so I visited the one here in Dallas. I can see now why they're going out of business. The service was terrible. The staff was different. The food was mediocre at best and of course it came with the high price. It said to see that such a hallmark restaurant chain is going out this way. I do not recommend that you go.
So sorry to witness the end of an era in Dallas. I have enjoyed every meal in the 40 years. The prime rib was roasted to perfection, so much flavor. My favorite is the creamed corn. We will miss you.
I guess it's a good thing that they are closing. We went for a final meal and after being VIP members for over 15 years, we walked out with the worst experience ever at Lawry's. It was so disappointing.
I have had a gift certificate since 2017 and was waiting for a very special event to come up to use it. Just so happened an event came up just as Lawrys said they were closing this location forever before I was able to get my reservation set....it was really challenging trying every opportunity day and night to get a reservation on the 21st....watching the log say less than 20 a day and so on the 21st one popped up at 1:00 1:15 for hightop tables which wont work for us...then spending all afternoon one 5:15 opened up but couldnt make that because she was still over an hour away.....finally snagged a reservation for 6pm and to make that we had to meet at the restaurant...lobster devilled eggs were light on lobster for the $17 for 4.... the prime rib was nice marbled enough but not too much and medium rare how we both like. Creamed spinach was tasty. A birthday cake was brought out for her and she enjoyed the carrot cake, warmed up a bit with caramel drizzle. it made a special birthday for a special person.
