Bidra med feedbackThis restaurant is located in a beautiful residential area of Cucso in Urbanizacion Santa Monica, 2 blocks from the Canasta supermarket in Av. De la Cultura. It specializes in fish and seafood. I tried her good Ceviche and Jalea. They also give you fish soup and fried corn or cancha as courtesy . Its premises are somewhat small, so it tends to be full of noon
My wife and I just arrived from a flight in Cusco, which was delayed by two hours. We came to our hotel and then started exploring for food. We have decided that we would eat in the first place that we have seen. We found a pizzeria, but next door was Cevicheria Punta Mar. We took our seats and started using the menu that was of course Spanish. Our waiter was eager to please and quickly started listing specials of the day... in Spanish. After a broken conversation we could say that he was determined to help us, although even asking for water was a struggle ( apparently the term is to use agua normal! After the realization that we have understood very little of the menu, we simply asked for his recommendation. Now. There's something you need to understand. My wife was one of the most selective eaters for most of her life. At 25 she will still order chicken strips when she eats out because she knows it's fucking close impossible to screw. She has expanded her palate exponentially in the last 2-3 years, but this was a huge leap of faith for her, ESPECIALLY, when seafood is her weakest place (many tried toss failed, but we are on vacation. I knew there was a form of keviche that came together with a rice of a kind. But apart from that, I had no idea what I was in business for. The food was INCREDIBLE! There was no single disappointment or even a subjugation on our table. We had ordered the Trio-Pinto-Mar, consisting of mouth irrigation Ceviche, savory arroz con mariscos (rice with shellfish and chicharron pescado (combo of fried fish and potatoes). As Americans we assumed that a dish was not enough, so we also ordered chupe al estilo punto mar con pescado y marisco (based on a huge bowl of soup with cancer, fish, egg, tofo, etc. SILLY GRINGOS! Your dishes should be shared and we had now bought a dinner with our lunch. While we were “mm’ed” and “oh yeah’d” and “oh my gawd’ed” we were often checked and easy to use (how best could we get from the staff. You were really interested in showing us a good time. At one point our server brought us what I can't help but drank purple in the house so we can try. The right name is Chicha morada. When we wondered about the purple color, he stepped away to return a minute later with a purple ear of corn used to make the drink!! They were even thought to give us an ear as a souvenir: The chef came to our table and told us about the acquisition and cultural significance of each of these dishes. Since each item was incredibly fresh, the whole culinary experience took about two hours, so if you rushing this place is not for you. This meal was so personal and wonderful... and it's economical! For our whole feast of fresh seafood and drinks and good company....$31.42 US dollars... we have spent the same on an IHOP breakfast (perspective y’all . El cevicheria Punto Mar, we cannot thank you enough for all your time, PATIENCE!
This out of the way restaurants is worth the trip. The presentation of the food was beautiful, the freshness and quality was exceptional, and the service was friendly, personal, and professional. Highly recommended! We went there because of a recommendation buy a previous customer. So glad that we did because it was the best seafood meal I had during our stay in Cusco. Well done!
Get out of the tourist places and eat here. The food and service are excellent. The plating is creative and attractive. Easily the best food we've had in Cusco. Deserves a much higher rating on TripAdvisor.
