Bidra med feedbackWe were looking for a late night hang out where we could get wine and champagne. Initially the host was friendly. About five minutes later several groups of people showed up. A couple at bar left. My wife, who is African American, asked if we...could take their seats. She understood enough Spanish to know he said it was for groups of three. Ok, fine. We’ll wait then. Two minutes later they sat another white couple in that same spot. I called the host over and told him in Spanish we were here first. He lied and said the other couple was waiting before. We knew it was not true. That was it. We paid and left without a tip. I said “Vamos ahora. La cuenta por favor.” He said “perdon”. I said “Adios”. We found much better places to sit and enjoyed our evening. Don’t treat my wife like that. TripAdvisor review is pending.
This place is an excellent place to drink a lot of champagnes. They have a great variety of brands and flavors. Totally recommended.
We stopped in for a quick glass of champagne to take a break from walking. The by-the-glass champagne they had out (besides the Moët) was fairly expensive (make sure you ask the price before you order I didn’t and paid for it). I decided...to pay cash and only had a couple of MXN bills. The waiters were digging through their pockets to make change, and still couldn’t come up with it. I finally paid with a credit card. How can they not have the till stocked even at almost
We didn’t eat here, as we were waiting for a friend, only had drinks, but the service was great, the drinks were really nicely made. It’s in the heart of Condesa, lots of action all around, but the vibe in here was very cool, they...were playing an eclectic mix of great sounds and the crowd was diverse and lively. This was a Thursday night, i imagine it’s way more hectic on a Friday and Saturday. Well worth checking out.
We went to this place, now called La Xampa Garcia, because our friends recommended it after their visit about a year ago. I must say I didn’t leave within the first five minutes because we were a group of nine and I didn’t want to...look for a reservation at The only things I personally liked about the place were the location, the atmosphere and the champagne selection, which is not impressive but ok for those who like champagne. The food is below average. We ordered about seven tapas and most were simply not good, not offensive but not good. The worst was the octopus, bland and gray and disgusting. The piquillo peppers stuffed with cod, were uneatable. The foie grass tapa and the tuna confitada were equally bad. The eggplant rolls and the ham croquetas were the best compared to the rest. The waiter was a horror. He was homophobic, didn’t now what was not available from the champagne menu, and was pushy and rude. Our reservation was for nine people and the table was set up for eight. The waiter insisted on us signing the check as if we were going to run away, we had to ask him to leave us alone because we were in the middle of a conversation and he didn’t seem to care. Tonight was an unfortunate and expensive experience at approx. USD for the terrible food and bad service we got. Don’t recommend it and will never go back. Go enjoy your bubbles somewhere else.
