Do not recommend. Last time I ordered take away they forgot items. And the second time I tried to order they informed me they do not offer gluten free options, nor were willing to substitute gnocchi for normal pasta to make it gluten free. Pretty disappointing Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Dietary restrictions: Offer gluten free, welcome to the 21st century!

Da Ricardos in Croydon is without a doubt one of the most disappointing restaurants I 've ever experienced and I 've been to some pretty dire establishments over the years. When I dined here, I was quite frankly disgusted by the standard of the food, the service, and the general atmosphere of this so called Italian gastro pub. Let 's start with the infamous veal, which is by far the worst meat dish I 've ever had the displeasure of tasting. Overcooked, dry and beyond repair, it might as well have been used as leather rather than a suitable ingredient in any Italian dish. Then there was the coffee or lack of it, I should say. Bitter, stale and burnt, it was enough to leave even an insomniac slumbering. And don 't even get me started on the abysmal marinara that I foolishly ordered. Lacking in both fresh seafood and flavor, it was a complete lost cause, clearly assembled by some cooks with zero knowledge of authentic Italian cuisine. But the tale of this abhorrent eatery does not end there. The wine was mediocre at best and overpriced. And why would an establishment that purports to specialize in classic Italian cuisine refuse to split dishes or serve any pasta as a side? As a professional chef, I can safely say that the staff members here must have walked off the street because nobody with formal training should ever resort to such perfunctory service and substandard dishes. In short, Da Ricardos has no redeeming features whatsoever and I would urge anyone who cares about good food or service to go elsewhere; you 'll thank me later.
