When you arrive, ask for the “special diets menu,” which is not a vegetarian menu but rather a different version of the regular menu that clearly marks which items are (lacto-)vegetarian, dairy-free, and gluten-free. With this, you can pretty well figure which items might be veganizable, and your server will help you be sure (asking the chef if necessary). Note that, for example, the mushroom tacos can’t be made vegan because the mushrooms are cooked with butter. We had the veganized nachos and burrito, both with guacamole instead of cheese and sour cream. They were filling and tasty (we preferred the nachos). Service was warm and friendly. We only wish there were more vegan options.
Good food! Staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs although the the menu stated there were more vegetarian options and when asked about it they said that it wasn't vegetarian
I was greatful that there was a restaurant in Cromwell with a few vegan options. The menu has two vegan soft tacos, plus a vegetarian burrito that can be veganized by leaving off the cheese and sour cream. However all of these items were well endowed with onions to which I am sensitive. Onions are prevelant in the refried beans, the sauces, the salsa, the guacamole, and slaw. If you leave out the items with onions there is very little left to eat if you're vegan. Because of the lack of variety in the menu (using something other than onions for flavor), and for the very limited vegan options to begin with, I gave this restaurant an average rating. I think if you love onions you would probably like the food.
