Bidra med feedbackMy boyfriend and I went for dinner and we drove an hour to visit the restaurant. We had a great server named Martin. He was very attentive and speedy with everything. The kitchen was great with great food and everything came out quickly. The issuestarted when another server was discussing food with her table behind us. She asked them if they wanted to order food and theytold her that they were from out of town and they read that they had horrible food and they were not sure if they wanted toorder they were just wanting to drink. She didn?t reply to them and said well to be honest my parents won?t eat here eitherbecause they don?t like the food but they do come to drink the margaritas. Me being a palled by what I heard I cannot believethey serve her who works for the restaurant would tell a customer who came from out of town not to order food from therestaurant. She then proceeded to continue to tell them that other items on the menu we?re not going to order either. She wenton and on about the only thing worth ordering was alcoholic beverages. She then kept talking about how she hast to work longhours and hast to tip out the bus boys and everything else and by the end of the day she barely has any money left over. Iunderstand because I to work for a restaurant that everybody has to work together as a team. I don?t know if this is her firstserving job but she definitely needs to be retrained on how to show the customers that TaTas has several options for everycustomer. Her name is Kaylee.
Ed and I shared a bowl of scrumptious tortilla soup (add the generous dollop of ripe avo! and tenderize breast deep fried drizzled with melted cheese and a house made creamy jalapeño sauce. This man sized patty of tender breast comes with rice andbeans and hit the spot after a long day driving! Our server was helpful and sweet, smiled and checked on us several times. Weappreciated the Southern hospitality!
We were disappointed to learn that we couldn’t have a campfire while camping in Davy Crockett National Forest. So, we hurried to Crockett and were thrilled to eat at this restaurant. They accommodated us with a patio for our service dog, and our waitress was fantastic.
The restaurant's decor may be outdated, but the food is fantastic. I really enjoy the family-sized nachos for under $15! I'm not a fan of warm salsa (I prefer it chilled), but the other two sauces that come with it definitely make up for it: a spicy ranch dip and a delicious tomatillo salsa.
This restaurant can be quite inconsistent. There are times when the food is really good, but other times I’ve waited over an hour for just a bean and cheese burrito, even when the place isn’t busy.
