Bidra med feedbackMy family raved about the fried chicken. It WAS tasty, but I found it to be too salty.
Amazing service (friendly and efficient) and great quality fried chicken and okra! Warning to newcomers, you have to wait a long time (in my case 2 hours) before being seated inside since it is so popular so come prepared!
We stopped in for Lunch on a Wednesday in April. We had to wait outside to be seated, but only for about 15 minutes. The place gets pretty crowded on the weekends I heard, so I was glad we came on a weekday shortly after they opened. There 's a QR code you scan to go to a web page to add yourself to the waitlist. I had the Fried Chicken, Fried Okra, and Mac-n-Cheese. The chicken was excellent. The sides were good. Everything was well-seasoned and the chicken had a perfect crisp to the fried skin and a nice mild spiciness to it. It 's very tasty, famous, a local fav, and part of the neighborhood history. So, I 'm glad we checked it out. Be courteous when you 're here and don 't sit an chit-chat at the table camping as it 's known in the industry). Odds are a LOT of people are waiting to be seated. So, when you 're done eating please kindly shut up and leave.
The greatest American fried chicken serves ever. No wonder this place is an institution. Part of me believes it won't be here for much longer so take advantage of it! The side dishes were excellent too the white bean red beans sides definitely stick to your ribs.
Some of the best fried chicken that I've eaten. No reservations so be prepared to wait. If in New Orleans...this has to be on your list to try. Don't forget to order an extra side of gravy.
