Bidra med feedbackIn the past the food was excellent even for locals. Now the food tastes different because the old cooks not there anymore. And if they are, what has happened? The food is very salty now and it don't taste like New Orleans. I recently went here and this is what I experienced. Whomever did the cooking that day, it was horribly salted to the point where no one in my family ate it and to salvage some of it and not be completely wasteful, all we could do is skim some off the the top of the food. What can I say??… what a TREAT! From the moment the owner sees you till you finish an incredible meal, you’re treated as if they knew you for years! These folks are nothing short of genuine! As for the food… there isn’t a bad thing on the menu! You can tell things are done right, with love and from scratch! The fried okra and the gumbo gave me life! That's all I have to say. The end. Period. Well, one more thing. If you go to the chain restaurants, you aren't tasting the complexity of what real gumbo is. The chain and gourmet restaurants give you a tasty soup…like someone made chicken noodle soup but only gave you the broth. (Yes, I channeled my inner chef and tried all of them. Listen, stop what you’re doing and just GEAUX!!!!!! The food is absolutely delicious and the family is sooooo friendly and engaging. Though our stay was brief, the memory will last a lifetime and we can’t wait to return!
