Mr. Chile's - COZUMEL

Mr. Chili's, or habaneros, is our favorite restaurant in Cozumel. We've eaten there about five times. The serving sizes are awesome, the food is excellent, and the staff really takes care of you. We will definitely visit again when we go to Cozumel in the future.

Cool place. Guacamole and cheese dip were awesome! Especially the shrimp quesadilla.

This little hole in the wall ended up being an awesome place to stop in to. Full disclosure, I hate coming to Cozumel. I freely admit I wasn't excited about having to stop here after our itinerary changed for the cruise. After docking, I wasn't sure I wanted to do anything once we actually got into port. My brother asked a taxi driver for a place to stop in at to grab a bite and the guy recommended here. After some waffling and sending my mom back to the boat, we walked down to the restaurant. Legit hole in the wall. In between a variety store and a leather shop, it's oddly shaped. They have swing seats at the bar, which is kinda cool. We opted to sit in the actual restaurant. It kinda ends up being open air in the back with a mishmash of tables and chairs. I don't recall the name of what we got, but it was enough food for four people. My brother and I did our level best eating. Had a great local beer to go with it. Service was excellent, Wi-Fi was the best I've ever experienced internationally, food was very good. The clown wandering around gave me a balloon flower and my brother a parrot that he attached to his shirt. Great experience here. Definitely elevated the port in my eyes (that and I got Starbucks). So a little less dislike for Cozumel since I found this place.

This place was hilarious and fun! Note, we did not have any food here, just drinks! I have been wanting to check this kitchy tourist spot out for YEARS. The minute I saw swings at the bar, I have been dying to go here. I always visit Cozumel with my family and they have never showed any interest in going here so, we took it upon ourselves to venture away from the family to enjoy drinks here. We ordered a margarita and a shot of tequila, we were on vacation, why not! The swings were fun, the drinks were good and the service was pleasant. We also ran into a group of other guys that were hilariously drunk and they made for an entertaining show!

Part of a complex that includes a full restaurant and a store specializing in fine quality leather goods, Mister Chile is a no frills beach bar. The fun swings serve as seats and they make a mean margarita. The back bar has saddle seats and is decorated with souvenirs female guests leave behind. The house tequila is definitely worth trying for a taste of true Mexican hospitality. The staff is friendly and cheerful. The drinks are stiff and reasonably priced. When you find yourself in Cozumel, definitely come by Mister Chile for an ice cold beer or other adult beverage while swinging away at the bar. Try the ojo rojo (tomato, lime, spices) mixed with beer for a traditional mix.
