La Chopa Restaurant - COZUMEL

We eat here when staying at El Cid. The staff are so pleasant and attentive. The buffet options at lunch and dinner are great, especially on Friday's Mexican Night. Regular menu is great too.

We ate most of our meals mainly at the buffet as a part of the all inclusive plan while staying at El Cid La Ceiba hotel. All in all, we were pleased with the selections and everyone was able to find something to their satisfaction. For the price and convenience our family gives two thumbs up!

We did not do the all inclusive option at the hotel so we paid out of pocket, usually paying $20/person meal average. We were mostly happy with the food, and had fun with the various activities that they do, especially on Wednesday Friday evenings. The environment was comfortable, scenic, and relaxed. Occasionally the service was a little slow, but not too hard to get help. The buffets (breakfast sometimes dinner) start on the left and work their way right, and you are required to wear a mask while getting your food. I found the pizza to be 1 star, so just stick to the local cuisine. For not all inclusive, drink refills do appear to get billed for each refill.

The fact that it is on the property makes it very convenient. The food was reasonable. I expected a higher quality of food for the price. The services was pretty good. But, it has a great location by the sea. They also have entertainment on certain nights that was quite good.

We ate most of our meals here during our 4-day stay. The food was great and the service good. You can't beat the view!
