El Foco - COZUMEL

I just wrote 1 review before and it was for the best margarita. that's my first bad review. this restaurant is terrible. Don't go. the food didn't look like the photos. the people were nice, but eating was unfilled. no taste. no taste. no wall was brought to boiling. awful. many better places to experience authentic Mexican cuisine.

Family Mexican restaurant with traditional eating! it was soou good, I had great moments there and the team is really nice!

We had noticed this place across the street from Kondesa, and it's very unassuming. But wow! The flavors! The choice are so many, but my husband had to try the special with cactus, which he really liked, and I'm so glad he ordered a side...of grilled onions. They just made both of our taco plates so tasty! I had beef rib tacos (w/o bone), and we both really enjoyed the super balanced and slightly sweet margaritas. We inhaled the complimentary chips and salsa, and my husband was happily sweating with eating the hot salsa and pico de gallo. I tried one piece of tomato from the pico and my mouth was on fire. No thank you. You can tell it's a family run restaurant with mother in the kitchen, father hugging his )daughter and son who kindly and efficiently waited on us.

Truly tremendous tacos (we have had lots simple ambience and warm service by Mel. We will return!

El Foco is a family owned and run local taqueria. It is different than the rest but DELICIOUS! You will not be disappointed and you will be supporting a hard working local family. We enjoyed meeting the owner and his attentive service as well as...his wives fantastic cooking.
