Carvers Steakhouse - Cortland

Food was delicious and restaurant is very well decorated!

It was our first weekend at Greek peak and we were very excited to eat at Carver's on New Years Eve because the food and service at Trax was Amazing! Carver's was a huge let-down. The bread served was soggy. The drink I ordered was made wrong twice (bartending needs help, or just Pinterest the drink recipe) The beyond burger was a beyond burger, the fries were embarrassingly Limp. The mushroom ravioli had a thick sauce with balsamic drizzle..... just not a could combination of flavors. I have had mushroom ravioli elsewhere and this Carvers was just not worthy. Besides the drab dinner, the wait staff was lovely. They tried to get us to take the left overs but we declined, they did comp the ravioli and made the drinks on the house, which is good because we barely touched either. They also offered dessert, but we didn't dare the disappointment and instead left a big tip for the well intentioned serve.

We booked a table for dinner to celebrate my son’s birthday. Two 13 year olds, a 10 year old and my husband and I. Restaurants is beautiful. Modern and classy. Food was really good. Strip steaks, Bourbon steak special, calamari, kids steak and family style salad.Baked potato was REALLY good. And the bread was one of my fav’s ever. Staff was all very friendly. Speed of service was off depending on what was going on. Monday night service was on point with just a slightly longer than preferred wait between salad course and dinner. Tuesday night it was all very slow starting with drinks straight through getting the check. Maybe short staffed that night, not sure. Food was hot and delicious and overall a good experience. We would go back again if we stay at HLL.

Expensive cheap. My steak had so much gristle, half the steak was inedible. My wife’s steak was Very good. My mother in laws salmon was “ok”. It was loud and cold in the restaurant. We asked that the staff keep the doors closed, but they didn’t. Two tables of customers worked together to try and keep the doors closed and the cold air out. Did not meet my criteria of having better food than I can have at home. I will not be going back.

Breakfast was wonderful, dinner not good. Undercooked meats, missing parts of orders, forgetting parts of orders, but friendly staff, I had to cancel the rest of my reservations for dinner on vacation because of food quality. Cold side dishes upon arrival. Raw center of wagyu burger. Missing chicken on a chicken Caesar salad.
