Bidra med feedbackOrdered by phone, 2 mains and 2 appetizers. When I got home, NO spring rolls. Too far to go back. Did refund my CC, but the damage was done. The chicken Pho was excellent but my General lo mein with chicken was terrible. The chicken was in tiny little pieces and were fried so long it felt like I was eating gravel. The sauce was really good though. Doubt I'll ever go back. Too many good oriental food establishments in CC to go back to a place like this. If you are reading this, go elsewhere.
I looked at the menu ahead of time and there was a good number of vegetarian options. In particular, I wanted to try the Pho Xao Tofu (wok-fried rice noodles . When I arrived, a very friendly person greeted me. I asked her if the Pho Xao Tofu was vegan and she said it wasn 't because it had beef broth. (Maybe it should be removed from being vegetarian? She answered all my questions and I ordered the Delightful Noodles (bean thread noodles . She entered the item so it would be completely vegan but warned me it would not be very tasty. This has happened at another Asian restaurant before because they don 't carry vegan oyster sauce and other items. She told me she didn 't have enough vegan customers to have vegan items. I appreciate her patience and help. The food was just okay. I may try it again next year in the hopes there are more vegan options. :
We got there right before lunch cut off. 2:30 is when they stop lunch. We got there at 1:45. We both had Com dishes , I had char grilled beef, and he had short ribs. It comes with rice and Kim chee , I got extra , no need for that. The Kim Chee was not up to the flavor I remembered, in fact , there was NO FLAVOR , it was cabbage and carrot pieces not peeled enough or cut up enough , which was a big disappointment , I always loved it here. Having said that , the char grilled beef did not disappoint , it was delicious. Not too thick and not too thin, just the right amount of char . My husband really liked the short ribs. Some places have a lot of fat on short ribs. It was not crowded, and the chairs were super comfortable. The staff was very nice , not necessarily helpful, but this place is a get your own drink , get your own to go box , so if you ask for anything we had no salt at table, so had to track down our own) server looked surprised I asked for anything. It's still a good place for good food.
Well priced and packed with flavor. This place is definitely a hidden gem although not that well hidden (it has a huge sign). The waitress was informative about the dishes and they came out as explained. They were very tasty and for a great price.Food: 5/5
When I come to Corpus Christi I try to eat HubDat with my sister as we ordered the Bun Ga Combo with beef and spring rolls. I was sad to hear they no longer sell the Vietnamese coffee but the food is good!
