Bidra med feedbackWe arrived at Cork late in the evening and decided it was a must to have a pint of Guinness before calling it a night. We were served by John, who was very friendly and eloquent. And last but not least, he poured one of the finest pints around, I must say.
We were lost, tired and hungry. We had walked from our B&B looking for a restaurant, stumbled on a sidewalk sign for Irish Stew and Clam Chowder. Went in to find an amazing interior, excellent food, and John, our entertaining bartender. It would remain our favorite pub of many over the next two weeks of our coastal drive if this beautiful country. We visited April 2019.
Wonderful, local, traditional bar, with a great mix of young and old. We were greeted by an extremely friendly and welcoming lady behind the bar. The Murphys was excellent. Well worth a visit to pass an hour or two
Nice bar, a taste of the past with this family run bar. Genuine friendly Cork people offering a slice of Cork hospitality and normalness!!! Had a couple of pints here midweek, and there was a reasonable amount of people here. It’s probably the closest bar to the string of bed and breakfasts along Western Road on the west of the city. Reasonable prices too.
John looked after us on several nights. Great seafood chowder, stew and lasange home cooked. Can recommend the Murphys. Bar with. great atmoshere.
