Bidra med feedbackWe visit Breckenridge in April, so it is still snowy and we are not skiers, so we tried to do things with the family. We decided to block the hill in the copper mountains. We were not disappointed! You are going online to reserve your time and you can say how many are logged in for your session. I think the maximum number is 85 and the workers told us that there are about 55 in our group. That was a nice number. There was much more in the session before us and they definitely had longer waiting lines. There is a human mover type magic carpet that brings you back to the top of the hill, so you don't have to climb it yourself. There were 9 people in our family and we could go down every 6-7 times. You can go down by yourself or in large groups, stick to the feet of the others, and the workers are basically pushing you on the hill. The staff was super, very friendly and professional. I'd definitely go back. I was a little nervous, it wouldn't be worth the money, but we all felt it was worth it. The magic carpet goes a little slow, but it allows you to catch your breath before you get back to the top. I asked when the best time is to go and was told when it is sunny and the snow has melted enough to make a little ice. He said fresh powder is not so funny.
We had the best time at Copper Mountain's Tubing Hill during our family holiday to Colorado. The parking lot was a bit packed, but the buses run constantly and we had no problems getting to the mountain. We knocked as a family, as individuals, in pairs .. we all had an explosion! The hill was not packed so we were able to have as many time as we wanted in our hour! Tubing is a must when you're in Colorado!
Really fun mountain and good trail layout. Most greens are concentrated in an area, so easy to practice for beginners without worrying about running in too difficult from a run. When someone who enjoys the blues the occasional black, it was nice that the areas of the mountain overflowed sparingly. What is with copper is that the runs are LONGGGG. Make sure to take the Rendezvous Sierra lifts for a bowl-like skiing, even if you are more on the beginners/intermediate side. Nice!
I wanted to ski a few days in March. Skiing itself was great. There are more beautiful and newer resorts that offer a better holistic experience when that is what you are looking for. Copper looks his age. But if only skiing for less money, a good choice. There are also other things to do in the area...Snowmobiling 20 minutes near Leadville. Hiking the Mayflower Gulch 5 minutes away. City of Frisco with good food 10 minutes away. The beginner area was good when you get it, with two different sections (via the magic carpet), which really help to learn and are challenged in a safe way. But unfortunately there is no easy way to get from the base. You have to get in ski boots quite a bit up to get to this area. Other green paths in the western village were fun and some are quite long. The bus system between the areas was pretty good. Eating the places we tried was also decent.
Parking was easy with free or paid lot options. Incredible variety of terrain from 12,400 ft steep bowls to groomers to many park options with half pipes. Fantastic lifts makes it easy to get around the entire mountain. Great food options on mountain like TRex Grill or the base areas. Spectacular views of fourteeners in the bowls.
