Bidra med feedbackAlways delicious! We come here every year and the food is fantastic without failing. We tried two different dishes this time (usually we get the pork to stir fry chicken curry hotpot because they are just so good! Lemongrass Vietnamese kind of pig...both not disappointed. One side of amazingly fried rice. Yes, the service is not whet to get you in a Michelin star restaurant, but embrace their unique ways just enjoy the quiet outdoor area, listen to the water feature, smell the roses see the Koi fish in the pond. DEFINITELY recommend!
Pho Sunday is located quite far from town and only serves Pho once a week, on Sundays. With these factors in mind, one may have certain expectations regarding the quality of the food. I would rate this restaurant a 5 out of 10. I ordered the Chicken Pho, which looked impressive when it arrived. However, the first spoonful of broth was only warm, which was disappointing as I prefer my Pho to be hot. The broth was decent but lacked that "wow" factor. I had to add a significant amount of soy sauce, chili, mint, and bean sprouts to enhance the flavor. I was also surprised that the restaurant did not use fresh noodles, opting instead for supermarket rice noodles. Additionally, the price of the Pho was exorbitant - at $23.80 for a large bowl, it was the most expensive Pho I have ever encountered. I could have easily purchased two bowls at Rusty's Markets in Cairns for the same price with change to spare.
I went to this restaurant twice in the same week as they only serve Pho on Sundays. My first visit l ordered Sesam crumbed prawns and Vietnamese style pork ribs. The shrimps were tasteless fresh. The pork ribs burst with taste and... really pleasant. I went back on Sunday to try a big bowl of Pho, which I was very excited to try when I was a real lover of Pho. I ordered a big chicken pho and fried spring rolls. The spring rolls were fresh, crispy and delicious. The Pho came and it looked amazing tho lacked in afew areas. If you make Pho just once a week in your restaurant, which is usually a bracket in Vietnamese restaurants, you have some expectations. First it was warm and not hot. A big sip for me. The broth was ok tho l needed to supplement quite abit soy sauce, chili and bean shoot to taste. The biggest waste was the use of package of rice noodles, which fell apart at the end of the meal. I'd rate that Pho 5/10. The service was great and helpful
We try to eat here when in Alice, and again it was a beautiful experience. The food is really very fresh and tasty, and the service is fast and attentive. It was not overcrowded what exactly is what you want in COVID... times. The outside was not open, but then it was a very cold night.
We were escorted to our table by two staff members, one appearing to be very young and the other slightly older. The restaurant had beautiful decor, including 5G propaganda, a Lego model of the Sydney Opera House, and Christmas decorations. The wait staff seemed to know us better than we knew ourselves. We had reserved a table for two, but then a short and eager man named Stuart Little appeared and continuously checked on us, even stroking our feet at times. It was unclear if he was an employee or just a very eager guest. He refused to give us his name, so we affectionately named him Stuart Little. Please note that the restaurant is hiring, so feel free to inquire within.
