Bidra med feedbackWhat a wonderful place to eat! The ambience was welcoming and friendly. The food was superb! The best we’ve eaten in Ireland this week of holiday. The chef did an awesome job of combining just the perfect mix of fresh ingredients to produce a very fine meal. Go when you’re in town! The spaghetti marinara was delicious. Don’t miss the sticky toffee dessert. It’s beyond good. We will return next time we are visiting Ireland.
Tourist trap. Food tastes fine but is overpriced. €16 for a much smaller than usual portion of mussels (w/ 1 thin piece of bread). €18 for chicken curry. Interior is nice. Service staff are a bit indifferent. If you have to visit, I'd recommend just popping in for a beer, if you can find a spot at the very small, crowded bar. Cong is a great little town though, very picturesque. Be sure to visit the nearby abbey, its grounds and the forest trails beyond. Just eat somewhere else.
Excellent food, great service and friendly staff. We were on route to Clifden and decided to spend 2 nights in Cong specifically to eat in Cohan's as it's dog friendly and food is excellent. Our first experience was last year when we discovered it by accident on our travels to Achill. So impressed we changed our holiday plans this year to come again
Historic venue due to The Quiet Man Film of 1951 era. Fantastic quality of food beautifally presented. The general atmosphere when we ate was more reserved than possibly other pubs and resturants in the area, but lovely. Very friendly service. There is a bar area which had locals drinking, and a seperate walk through dining area. We would have eaten there again but the other evening they had a private function with music .... I would call this fine dining, given the qualiry of food. A shared starter, two mains, 3 pints of Guinness, one dessert, a glass of wine, and an Irish Coffee came to €117, approx. £100 excluding a tip. Highly recommend.
Food beautiful but unfortunately overly inflated prices . Foundered all evening (sat with my coat on
