Bidra med feedbackMy newlywed wife and I visited Goa to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Goa Engineering College and our honeymoon. We had a lunch of Dal fry and Plain Rice for Rs. 100, which we found to be expensive compared to local prices. However, the candlelight dinner saved the day with Chicken Sizzlers and Hawaiian blue costing us only Rs. 670, still considered pricey in this part of India.
I recently discovered a fantastic dining spot called Sam's Room in South Goa (Batel Batim). Located near Nanu Resort, this restaurant offers excellent food at reasonable prices. The service is top-notch and the staff is friendly. A must-visit for anyone traveling to South Goa. Make sure to stop by Sam's Room.
Sam's room is the perfect name for this cozy little restaurant in the village of Betalbatim, the view from Sam's room of the beautiful fields is unpaid, without a doubt the food and service is good, but this describes the beautiful owner Sam
We were close to Betalbatim Beach and looking for a decent meal option for dinner one night. We found this little jewel of a place. The restaurant does not have a nice dining area and the service is also somewhat slow. But the food... does everything up. We visited the place 3-4 times again for breakfast and dinner.
For a change from the beach, this restaurant is a lovely spot for lunch with picturesque views of surrounding paddy fields and countryside. We have also visited for dinner a few times and it appears to be thriving. Owned by Sam Gonsalves, who also owns Sam's Goan Shack at Gonsua/Majorda, the chefs have been trained to a high standard. The wait staff are charming, but they could benefit from a head waiter to oversee operations. The food is excellent, with a focus on fresh fish and Indian cuisine, including a skilled tandoori chef.
