I ate a very early and pleasant breakfast yesterday morning [10 22 2022] on the panera brot at 611 e. livingston ave. ste. a, in the southern orchards neighbourhood of columbus and via the road of nationwide children's hospital. yesterday I had planned a full-day conference in the nationalwide children’s hospital, so I had decided to breakfast first on the panera bread, which is directly above the street. my food choice for yesterday had been sausage, rührei and cheese on ciabatta. from any reason, that is not completely clear to me, the sandwich I had paid and received had not contained a cheese. I had not been accused for being, and I had not received a cheese [which had actually made for a somewhat cheaper breakfast when I had expected]. I believe that it is possible to order and pay for her eating on one of several machines that look like credit card machines, but I had not noticed these machines until I had ordered and had received my order and had learned about the missing cheese. if they are near nationwide children's hospital during the early morning [as well as during other parts of the day] I recommend the panera brot that is directly above the road. but I also recommend that they check that they have actually ordered what they intend to order.
With that said, I cannot recommend this location. We placed a rapid pickup order online at noon for a 1:00 pickup, as we were traveling through the state. We arrived 15 minutes late, but our food was still not ready. In fact, there was a digital queue displaying around 20 names ahead of ours, despite ordering at noon. Around 1:20, I asked a manager to cancel our unprepared order and issue a refund. He assured me he would do so. However, at 1:49, I received an email stating that our order was ready. The next day, I checked my credit card statement and found that the manager had not canceled the order as promised. Fortunately, after contacting the corporate office, they confirmed that they would refund my money. I would advise anyone to visit other Panera locations until this specific one gets its operations sorted out.
Panera is typically a favorite. They were exceptionally busy and having difficulties with things running out and getting orders prepared and customers served. Disorganization caused about half the issues. Substitutions were not correct for missing items. Took much too long to make replacement items. Instead of focusing on current customer, left me standing with all but one sandwich while made a dozen other orders. Management needs to be more focused on order to avoid chaos and bad service.
The online/over-the-phone ordering process is completely broken at this particular location. they never get the order right; they can never hear or understand their question. it is only an underwhelming customer service experience, especially to serve the sick house personnel.
