Bidra med feedbackI had the pumpkin risotto for lunch and it was fantastic! I am a big fan of a well-made risotto and this dish did not disappoint. For only $13, it was a delicious and satisfying meal.
What a unique place this is. I hadn't planned on eating here, but the Steak nightboard caught my eye as I walked by and decided to check it out. The atmosphere was lively and it was bustling with customers so I decided to give it a try. I don't want to say too much because I am going to indulge in the generous portions, but I must mention that the staff is very friendly. There were five or six servers and they all took the time to greet me, even though they were busy attending to other tables. They made sure I had enough water, refilled my drinks, and checked in on how my meal was going. They were all absolutely lovely. As for the meal, I'll let the photos speak for themselves. The steak was cooked perfectly and the salad was a great complement to the main dish. Overall, it is definitely worth a visit for a relaxed midweek meal in a friendly atmosphere.
I hadn't dined in a pub since before the pandemic, but due to work, I decided to try the steak night at the union club. I figured I had nothing to lose with the $19 price tag. Normally, I like my steak very rare, but unless I'm at a specialized steak restaurant, I usually don't bother ordering it that way as it's hard to find a skilled cook who can get it right. When I asked the friendly waitress if they could cook it rare, she mentioned that one of their cooks had previous experience at a steakhouse and would be happy to cook it rare for me. My meal arrived quickly and when I took my first bite, it felt like I was tasting a perfectly cooked piece of meat that had been raised in a pasture. The steak was cooked to perfection and I savored every bite. I can't remember the last time I had such a delicious steak at a restaurant, but this one definitely ranks as one of the best I've ever had. Kudos to the chef and the attentive staff who made me feel like a valued customer. I will definitely be coming back for another steak, but this time I'll opt for the higher grade Scotch fillet. If they can make a porterhouse taste this good, I can only imagine how their filet would turn out.
Another canola just eat. for a pub, it's eating is 4-5stars and serving would be great. 3 to 4 stars. service. when we were there, the place was full, and the staff always ran around, but to get their attention was difficult. they had. ordering taken before others, but the other food was served at the earliest. do it well. it took 60-90 minutes from ordering to placing food on table. we ordered appetisers that were placed on the table within 15 minutes. I only noticed 2 options for gluten free. no other allergies that are even disturbed. personally this place was almost fantastic as they managed to confirm my Canola oil sensitivity in fact and allergy. I almost had a free trip to the hospital. as union club hotel, colac, used only canola oil. on ya. I asked concrete questions at the beginning of the salat, but unfortunately it also contains canola. I have now a medically confirmed allergy to canola oil, and I am devastated that every time I eat 'out', I cannot enjoy a meal. if restaurants would only offer a vegetable oil option, they would be better. if they only use canola oil only, then suck them. if my personal review offers penal punishment then consider the medical effects of my allergies about your option for just using canola products. I am now forced to contact me where I have been invited for their cooking oils and was in the past (previously 2021) had to cancel or withdraw from family events. this last minute outing was a wolf in sheep clothes for me.
Stopped of for lunch, due to Covid-19 restrictions we were seated in the out door courtyard, it was a lovely day and the meals were excellent. Next time we are in Colac we will dine here again.
