Bidra med feedbackTonight I ate dinner at Weinhaus Gräfen after reading the positive reviews on TA. I had the Wiener Schnitzel. I must say that I have never eaten a better Schnitzel during the past 7 days that I have been touring in Germany.
We were absolutely blown away by this restaurant. The food was exceptional so if you're looking for traditional local food, this is definitely the place. The schnitzels were amazing, asparagus was cooked just right and the steaks were incredible. They also have very lovely wines...and great dessert! We had the wine pudding and apple strudel, both were exceptional! Great service and very nice atmosphere. The price was very affordable also, we ate here on two evenings and paid around 40e for two main courses, a few glasses of wine and one dessert.
The males where extremely tasty. Soups amazing and pork legs special!!!! Very very nice for a affordable price!!!
We really enjoyed our meal here. You can tell this is popular with the local crowd. Which tells you it’s consistent and good. It’s not a fancy restaurant. But expect home cooked local fare. Both of our dishes were tasty and well prepared. They have...a good selection of wine as well. Make reservations in advance to ensure you get a seat.
When visiting Cochem during the “season”, when cruise ships dock the main streets can get quite crowded with “boat people”. Grafen restaurant (and hotel) is just enough of a walk up Endertstrasse (up past the large stone Enderttor) that few tourists make it. The food...is delicious (the pictured goulasch mit spaetzle is one of our favorites), the service friendly, and the atmosphere is a step up from crowded downtown restaurants. Give it a try.
